○Match Report
【Challenge to the next stage】
As the sun begins to tilt little by little, the quarterfinals of the 41st Japan Club Youth Soccer Championship (U-18) Kanto Tournament were held at the "Tokyo Gas Musashino-En Multipurpose Ground" with a pleasant temperature.
Coach Sato tells the players, "Increase your own value. If you fight sincerely, you can win. Let's win firmly and connect to tomorrow."
The opponent, Kashiwa Reysol U-18, drew with us in the final stages of the match in the Sec. 5 of the Emperor's Cup U-18 Soccer League 2017 Premier League EAST, which took place on May 7 (Sun).
The match, which is expected to be intense until the end, kicked off at 16:30.
【First Half】
Tokyo, who wants to take the initiative and advance the game advantageously from the beginning, will set up a net by connecting passes primarily at their feet against Kashiwa, and the defensive line will aim to intercept passes to the front line.
In the attack, we observe the opponent's movements with a combination of long and short passes centered around Shina HINATA and Hiroshi KOBAYASHI.
The first chance came in the 7th minute, when Hitoshi received the ball in a deep position in midfield and played a long ball behind the opponent's high defensive line, where Hara made a run.
If the ball had connected, it would have been a great opportunity, but it narrowly missed and crossed the goal line.
After that, we faced several pinches from our own passing mistakes and the opponent's free kicks, but we did not allow any goals with GK Takase at the center.
In the 23rd minute, Hara intercepted the opponent's build-up skillfully in the center and passed it to the free Imamura.
Imamura goes one-on-one with the opposing goalkeeper and tries to shoot the ball into the goal, but it is cleared by the opposing defender at the last moment.
Shinohara, wearing the captain's armband, headed the right corner kick taken by Shinaida from a clear, but it went wide of the goal.
The long-awaited opening goal came in the 30th minute, as Tokyo pushed the ball up to a high position by connecting passes. On the right side, Sakaguchi received a pass from Imamura and sent a precise cross into the center.
Sugiyama won the ball from the opponent and scored a goal with a header.
The final stage continued in a state of deadlock, with both sides making progress and vying for control, and they went into halftime with a one-point lead.
【Halftime】
Coach Sato
"Let's increase the time we hold onto the ball and take control. Let's defend without giving the opponent any chances and fight until the end."
【Second half】
Tokyo, who have been pressed and pushed back by Kashiwa, especially from the left side, since the start of the second half.
Tokyo continuously made substitution cards from the early stages of the second half, and tried to seize the momentum by substituting Imamura for Kubo (Sei) in the 65th minute and Terayama for Shinaida in the 76th minute, as Kashiwa came to score goals.
Tokyo, which has gradually gained momentum, faces a big chance in the 83rd minute.
Tsubasa TERAYAMA, who came on as a substitute, fiercely chased the opponent's connection in the center. The ball, which was intercepted by stretching his leg to intercept Kashiwa's pass, was passed to another substitute, Hisashi KUBO.
Kubo (Masashi) confidently swings his left foot at the ball, but narrowly misses the goal.
In the 86th minute, Fuki-no was replaced by Yokoyama, and Tokyo wants to further control the pace, but towards the end, the opponent's set plays continue and the pressure continues.
However, Tokyo managed to keep Highase, Shinohara, and Kusumi from scoring until the end and finished the game with a 1-0 victory.
Tokyo, which was able to share the weight of one point among all members, will also fight with a challenging spirit in tomorrow's semifinal round.
