INTERVIEW2022.2.11

Interview with Hotaka NAKAMURA

Q, how do you perceive the accumulation of the preseason as an individual?
A, I have been playing football under the coaching of Kenta HASEGAWA until now, but from this season it will be Albert PUIG ORTONEDA's coaching. The tactics have changed completely, and my role in the game has also changed significantly. There were various trial and error moments, but I kept trying new things during the training camp. In the process, I had both successes and errors, but I made corrections myself and improved. Personally, I feel that I still need to improve further, but I think I have prepared very well.

Q, how do you feel about the team's performance?
During the camp, there were many practice matches, and I feel that I have been improving significantly with each game as I continue to learn from trial and error.

Q: How do you feel about coming back to Kodaira and the increasing intensity of competition?
A, this is the original soccer, so it is intense and also a team, but it is a competitive world, so I think it is natural to be intense.

Q, what is your impression of Coach Albert's soccer?
A, it goes without saying that people are running and working hard, but I always say, "Stand in the right position and first move the ball (make the opponent run)." When that happens, natural quick thinking and increasing one-touch plays are required, not only in terms of technique but also in terms of the ability to think and execute. I think we need to do more in that aspect.

Q: What are the requirements for a side back player?
A, when it opens, it feels like it's open. It depends on the time and situation, but sometimes I open it and receive the ball, and sometimes I can effectively use the outside players by narrowing it down inside. By taking a slightly lower position, I can create passing lanes for center-backs and goalkeepers, and there is no fixed pattern for that. It's a part where I have to make judgments based on the situation. It's a very difficult part, but now my thoughts are gradually being organized, so I think that reducing mistakes there and doing it accurately will lead to good plays.

Q, please tell us your thoughts and feelings for this season.
A, I don't think about injuries anymore. It becomes an excuse to talk about injuries. Since I have a new knee, I want to forget about injuries in a positive way and focus on the quality in front of me, as every year is a year of competition.
