INTERVIEW2022.2.22

Interview with Takuya Aoki

Q: After finishing the opening match, which one is bigger in terms of challenges and response?
A, first of all, the start of the game was not good. Personally, I strongly feel the need to fix that. I wanted to calm the game down more. I entered the game with awareness, but there were parts, including the formation, that were not fully communicated to everyone, and I think that's why it didn't go well.

Q, were there frequent calls for corrections during the start of the match?
A, I was able to speak, but in the end, I think the timing when the play stopped was when I was able to make clear corrections.

Q: Has player Ryo AOKI ever said anything to those around him?
A, I gave instructions on positioning, such as formations. I'm not sure if it was smooth, but after that, it improved significantly and we were able to move the ball better.

Q: The tempo increased in the second half. What did you think?
A, both the offense and defense were coordinated, and we were able to move the ball while progressing the game, so I think there were many good moments.

Q, I think we were able to create quite a few chances.
A, there was a sense of accomplishment in that regard.

Q, is this a game where we were able to clearly identify the direction in which things will change if we make adjustments here?
A, I think the game will change depending on the situation, but I think it is moving in a good direction. That's a good thing.

Q: Are there any negative aspects to the result of defeat?
A, personally, I think so. The first 15 minutes were a game where the opponent could have won. However, I think our time was longer after that. In that sense, I think it was a game where we had to take 3 points or at least 1 point.

Q, have you been working on anything in practice since the start, and have you been able to fill the gap in your style during actual matches?
A, it's half and half. There were some good parts. However, I've been saying this since the training camp, but when it comes to my position, it has been said that the game is determined by the first play, so I have a strong image of not being able to control it at the beginning.

Q: What will you be working on for the next game?
A, the start of the game is both a personal challenge and a team challenge, I think.
