Interview with Yojiro TAKAHAGI

Q, how did it feel to make your first appearance of the season in the Júbilo Iwata match, even though it was a difficult situation with one less player?
A, since it was a game after one player was sent off, the first thing was to play while considering the situation of the game. Coach Albert PUIG ORTONEDA said after the match against Cerezo Osaka that he was not satisfied with the course of the game after player Shota AOKI was sent off, so even with 10 players, we were conscious of keeping the ball and advancing time with the ball. In the end, the fact that the opponent had a numerical advantage did not change, so I think the team as a whole was able to put their bodies on the line and prevent goals.

Q, Is it correct to say that the entire team was able to unify their awareness of making it their ball rather than simply clearing it?
A, I was playing with the intention of increasing the time we possess the ball. By pulling the ball out myself, I intended to convey that to the entire team. Although we lost the ball many times, I believe that being able to play with that awareness will lead to the next game and beyond.

Q, it means that there was a willingness to challenge for ball possession as a team even in numerically disadvantaged situations.
ADuring the actual play, everyone played with the awareness of connecting the ball.

Q: Did you have any feelings or impressions about your play after participating in an official match?
A, I still don't have the feeling of being involved in the game at all. I want to show more of an attitude to play for the team and make this season a season where I can demonstrate my strengths in the game.

Q: What do you need to do in your daily efforts to prepare for the next appearance?
A, it is important to fully commit to daily training, and then, when I play in a match, I want to express what I can do within that situation through actual play. Regardless of the form of participation, it is important to utilize my experience, but I am always thinking about playing for the team in any situation.
