INTERVIEW2023.6.21

Interview with Peter Cklamovski, the new coach
"Let's create excitement and enthusiasm"

Q: The second day of training after taking office has ended. How is the atmosphere of the team?
A, I am proud to be a part of this club. I am very excited and feel the potential of Tokyo club and the players. In order to move forward towards our dreams, we have also found clear tasks that need to be accomplished.

Q: Please tell us clearly what points the club should aim for in the future.
I think it's all about football. I think there are many things that we have to do as a team. We will continue to work on improving all aspects, including defense, offense, and set piece accuracy, and we want to be able to express ourselves firmly in the game. I want to bring a winning mentality to this club and prioritize lifting trophies. It is our dream, our ultimate goal, and our ambition. Of course, it is easy to convey in words. Players and staff must demonstrate it through actions.
I would like to create excitement and enthusiasm together with the viewers. I would like to seek a fighting spirit with courage. In order to demonstrate a perfect performance, each and every aspect must be carefully coordinated. Hard work is essential in order to take this step. However, I believe that by improving each and every step, an unstoppable team will be formed. As I mentioned earlier, hard work is an indispensable element for this.

Q: Please tell us the style of football that Coach Klomovski ultimately aims for.
A, "Building the Tokyo style". It is important to play aggressively with passion, and to fight bravely in both offense and defense. We want to involve the entire city of Tokyo with emotional football. We must express plays that make the fans and supporters feel even more attracted.

Q, yesterday's first meeting was very impressive.
A, I want to cherish each process with the players. I want to share a clear way of fighting as a team with them, and I want to create an environment where players can lead the way to solutions and make decisions in play. I want to show a clear path of which direction we need to go.

Q, what did you feel when you observed the Kyoto Sanga F.C. match of the Levain Cup?
A, I think it was a game that embodied the fighting spirit. Tokyo, as I know it, is a club that expresses the fighting spirit. Seeing such scenes and moments in the Kyoto match was also inspiring for me. I am proud that the players and staff came together and achieved victory, securing a spot in the prime stage. As a team, we must take each step forward. We will create an exciting team that makes the fans and supporters excited to watch the game, with plays that make them want to jump up and run to the stadium to watch the game immediately. Of course, there are areas that need improvement, but I also want to highlight the good points that we were able to express in the Kyoto match.

Q: Please tell us what you have felt again while communicating with the players.
A, football is all connected. Attack is connected to defense, and defense is connected to attack. A complete performance is required in all aspects. We want to be able to express our own rules and plays in every game in all elements. It is important to work harder than the opponent, win the battle, and evolve our football in every game. Instead of looking too far ahead, we want to focus on the game in front of us.
