【Player/Coach Comments】
Both teams showed a quiet start in the early stages.
Iwaki FC gradually held onto the ball.
Tokyo defense is being shaken by intricate passing. Although they were threatened with goals in the 6th and 9th minutes, the defense responded and protected the goal.
Tokyo tries to create opportunities by having Hayashi and Hanya run behind the defense line from long balls, but they are unable to hold the ball up front.
Tokyo's first shot came in the 13th minute, as Hayashi received a vertical pass in the opponent's central area and connected it to Uchida.
Hayashi goes around Uchida, while Uchida shoots from the cut-in, but it is blocked by the defender.
They found themselves in a pinch in an unexpected way while struggling to create scoring opportunities.
25 minutes, Iwaki.G's front line receives pressure and Uchida shoots at an empty goal from a pass miss in front of their own penalty area, but it goes over the frame.
Then, Tokyo takes the lead. 30 minutes, Hayashi receives the ball in the center of the penalty area from Ikichi and creates an opportunity, then drops it to Suzuki.
Suzuki's shot hit the middle of the goal and shook the net on the left side.
Afterwards, Iwaki.G had more possession of the ball, but the defensive line centered around Enomoto responded and ended the first half with a score of 1-0.
【Halftime】
Coach Nakamura's comment
"Everyone should play with more responsibility."
Defending is about pushing the ball to the side and winning it back.
Create a starting point in the front line in attack and create chances.
【Second half】
Tokyo replaces Takahashi and Hanya with Kobayashi and Shinaida.
Manato SHINADA and Suzuki in a double pivot. Hiroshi KOBAYASHI is positioned on the left side and Uchida slides into the attacking midfielder role.
Iwaki also substituted the GK and started the second half.
Tokyo, who actively attacked, created an opportunity in the opponent's central area with Hayashi at the 50th minute, and connected with Yanagi who broke through on the right side.
The willow dribbles vertically and puts a slightly negative ground cross into the center of the PA, where Lin has infiltrated, and directly connects.
The Tokyo player was judged to be offside after shaking the net but getting involved with the ball in front of the opponent's goalkeeper.
In the 61st minute, Uchida was substituted by Matsuoka, who entered as a TOP midfielder and added even more momentum.
Immediately after the 62nd minute, Yanagi broke through the right side and connected with Kobayashi, but it was not a goal.
Furthermore, in the 63rd minute, Hiraoka broke through the right side with persistence. Matsoka aimed for a shot after a negative cross, but it was blocked by the crossbar.
Hinata aims for this loose ball, but it narrowly misses the frame.
In the 73rd minute, Shinaida gets a free kick in the opponent's territory and passes it to the center.
Suzuki heads the ball towards the goal, even though the opponent's defender changes the course, but the goalkeeper's excellent save prevents a scoring opportunity.
Tokyo had been struggling to score additional points, but in the 2nd minute of additional time, Hayashi scored a magnificent goal.
Kaua skillfully evaded the opponent after running up the center with a counterattack, sprinting alone for about 45 meters and calmly sinking the one-on-one with the goalkeeper.
The match ended as it is, and Tokyo won 2-0.
Thank you very much for your passionate support for FC Tokyo today.
Thank you for your continued warm support.
【Comment from Coach Nakamura】
"Before the game, the staff created a video of the earthquake and showed it to the players."
I told the players that they must give 100% of their power to the children and fans/supporters who came to the venue today, which is something they must do more than in official matches.
In the first half, we couldn't play good soccer and we conveyed that we couldn't end it like this at halftime. We discussed that instead of relying on the opponent, we should proactively initiate attacks and try to overwhelm the opponent.
In the second half, from the beginning, the players kept pushing forward towards the goal.
The goal was 2 points, but I think the players showed their attitude towards the goal to the fans and supporters.
Iwaki also has an important match next week, so they came with a very high motivation, and although it was a charity match, they were able to have an intense game.
Thank you for the support of many fans and supporters who came to cheer today.
【Player Comment】
《Kai Takahashi》
"It has been five years since the earthquake, and both players and the general public have gradually been forgetting about it."
I think for those who have been affected by the disaster, the scars will remain for a lifetime. Although no one close to me has been affected by the disaster, we ourselves have suffered unimaginable wounds.
It may not be possible to fully understand each other's feelings 100%, but it was a charity match where we tried to do what we could.
There were also youth players, but I think it was possible for the players to show their charm as a professional club called FC Tokyo.
Before the match, they showed us a video summarizing the events of the earthquake, and it allowed us to once again feel the magnitude of the damage caused by the disaster and the feelings of those affected. There were many things that left a lasting impression on our hearts.
Once you step onto the pitch, you temporarily set aside those feelings and focus on playing. Although there are limitations to what a soccer player can do, I believe it is important to play to the best of your abilities.
The first half felt like building a foundation while creating a team with new members.
"I think the coach made adjustments during halftime and in the midst of the second half battle, we were able to showcase the abilities of Hayashi, Yanagi, and HIRAOKA. The youth players were also able to demonstrate their individual characteristics, so I believe we were able to show a respectable game."
