【Player/Coach Comments】
Facing a tough opponent Omiya at the first ever match in NACK5 Stadium!
Sec. 10 will be an away game against Omiya Ardija. In the previous match against Oita, we fought calmly for 90 minutes and achieved victory. In this match as well, we want to endure where we should endure and extend our own time zone as much as possible to achieve victory. Despite being an away game, we will stick to Tokyo's style of soccer in order to remain in the top and aim to earn 3 points.
This round, the center-backs will be Shigeno and Fujiyama, with Asari serving as the central midfielder. Kondo has recovered from his injury and returned to the bench since the opening match. Ikegami also made it to the bench, while Bruno QUADROS got injured and left the battlefield.
Omiya, on the other hand, is currently in 6th place with 4 wins, 3 draws, and 2 losses. In the league, they have been on a good streak of not losing in the past 5 matches. In the previous match against G Osaka, they achieved a come-from-behind victory, so the team's atmosphere should be good. In addition to their solid defense that they have built up so far, this season under the new coach Yasuhiro Higuchi, they have been playing a fluid style of soccer, connecting passes and creating chances. They have also shown resilience and fought on equal terms against strong opponents like Urawa and Kashima, gaining confidence. Coach Jofuku also warns that they are the "most formidable opponent" with more confidence in the attacking aspect.
Omiya will be without FW Yoshihara and MF Saito, but they need to be cautious of the dribbling of FW Dennis Marques and the movements of the opponent's attacking line that come out between the DFs. Even if Omiya is dominated by the ball, they should defend without rushing and look for a chance to counterattack. In past matches, they have often been "defeated" by power plays and set plays near the end. It can be said that they are a formidable opponent, and it is likely to be a battle where they cannot let their guard down until the end, but if they prioritize balance and quickly switch from defense to offense, they should be able to exploit weaknesses. Read the flow of the game calmly and fight without giving up for victory!
The rain that had been falling since the previous day stopped before the match, and it was humid at NACK5 Stadium Omiya. The match started at 2:05 PM with a kickoff from Tokyo.
Despite allowing Omiya to dominate, Kajiyama scores his first goal! Cabore secures the second goal
From the start, Omiya has been launching strong attacks while connecting passes. Shortly after the start, Omiya left MF Kanazawa advanced and crossed. Fujiyama cleared the ball, but MF Kanazawa took it back and took a middle shot. In the 6th minute, Murayama, the right side back of Omiya, advanced and tried to break through the area by exchanging passes with right MF Kobayashi, but Nagatomo held him back. Tokyo calmly responded, with Shioda making saves and Fujiyama making sharp interceptions. Shigeki also defended tenaciously and there were no decisive pinches. In the 13th minute, they were bypassed in the midfield and Omiya FW Pedro JUNIOR broke through to the left area, but Fujiyama also leaned his body to the shot and Shioda made a sharp save.
When they steal the ball, Tokyo quickly switches and aims for the back of the Omiya DF, turning it into a counterattack. In the 15th minute, Shigenobu passed the ball to Fujiyama, who was open on the right side, in a long pass towards the front line. Kajiyama followed suit, smoothly jumping out from the midfield to the dropping point of the ball, and headed it in. The ball went over the goalkeeper's head and into the net, scoring Kajiyama's first goal of the season and taking the lead!
After that, both teams continued to attack each other. In the 16th minute, Omiya FW Dennis Marques dribbled the ball and took a strong shot from the right area, but Shioda made a save. In the 19th minute, Akamine dropped Shioda's kick and exchanged passes with Cabore, who broke free into the left area again. He tried to shake off the defenders with his speed, but the shot did not hit the target. In the 20th minute, Kurisawa tenaciously connected with Nagatomo's left cross, and Imakawa took a shot from the middle, but it went wide. In the 22nd minute, Omiya MF Kobayashi advanced into the right area. He made a decisive negative pass in front of the goal, but FW Pedro JUNIOR couldn't finish it. He escaped the danger.
25 minutes, Kajiyama's pass inside the Omiya team was initially blocked by the DF, but he managed to snatch the loose ball and advance to the front line, unleashing a controlled shot. Although he narrowly missed scoring an additional goal just above the bar, in the 32nd minute, Shioda's kick to the front line went over the heads of Akamine and the opposing DF, finding its way behind them. Cabore, who had made a run into that space, executed a one-touch, looped shot after accurately judging the movement of the opposing goalkeeper who had come off his line! Omiya's attack, targeting the space behind the opposing DF, proved successful and they capitalized on the opponent's vulnerability to score two goals, ending the first half.
