【Player/Coach Comments】
Sec. 10 held at Yumenoshima Stadium in Koto Ward, which was the first time since Sec. 5 held on April 17th (Sun).
FC Tokyo U-23, who have turned consecutive away matches into consecutive defeats, want to change the tide at home.
Tokyo's starting eleven has GK surrounded.
The DF line has Ogawa on the right, making his first appearance and first start in the J3 League for FC Tokyo U-23 on the left.
And, in the center back position, Okazaki and the newly registered Lotus River, who is only 2 types registered, will face Kagoshima with a young DF line with an average age of 17.7 years (as of 5/23) for their first appearance and first start.
In the midfield, as in the previous match, Suzuki plays as an anchor, while Yukino and Sasaki wear the captain's armband as inside halves.
In the front line, Muriqui, Insoo YU, and Nathan BURNS, who made his first appearance and first start in the J3 League, line up in a 4-3-3 formation.
Kagoshima, who will be participating in the J3 League from this season, is currently in 4th place. The team, led by Tetsuya ASANO, who was also with FC Tokyo, is in their second year under his management and is known for their strong defense and sharp counterattacks.
Tokyo aims to earn points from top teams.
[First Half]
Kagoshima took an active approach to the game.
Although allowing a cross from the left side immediately after the start, the goalkeeper catches it.
Both teams form a compact formation when defending and build blocks in their own half.
Kagoshima will connect passes while Tokyo will look for opportunities through counterattacks using medium to long-range passes to change the situation.
The first chance came in the 20th minute, when Muriqui, who had the ball in his own half, passed a through ball to Burns running down the right side.
Pass this to Insoo YU, who is positioned in the center while Anton BURNS dribbles vertically.
Insoo YU drops the ball to Sasaki and takes a middle shot, but it is blocked by the opponent's defense.
The defense team also maintains their concentration.
23 minutes, a momentary space is given in the center outside the penalty area, allowing a mid-shot, but Okazaki blocks it with a sliding tackle.
The loose ball is picked up again, and despite allowing a breakthrough from the left side, the defense catches it firmly in front.
Tokyo, who created another chance on the counterattack, passed a long ball to Burns, who started running towards the right side, after Sasaki received the ball in the center of their own half and turned forward.
Burns dribbles up and shoots from a position inside the penalty area without an angle, but the opposing goalkeeper makes a save.
When Ogawa sends the left corner kick obtained here to Sasaki around the central PA line, Sasaki aims with a direct right-footed jumping volley, but it goes straight to the goalkeeper.
A chance came to Kagoshima in the 33rd minute, allowing a vertical pass in their own half, and they were penetrated through the center with two direct passes and entered the penalty area.
This decisive shot was saved by the goalkeeper's quick reaction and did not allow a goal.
Anton BURNS and Muriqui are approaching the goal with their vertical propulsion power as the time of patience continues.
41 minutes, Insoo YU on the left side receives Makoto OKAZAKI's long pass with great effort.
When Muriki enters the support and picks up the ball, he dribbles through the left side and enters the penalty area.
The cross from Grander just misses Anton BURNS.
In the 43rd minute, Muriki cuts off the opponent's pass in the center of their own field and counters.
When Muriki carries the ball up to the center, he passes a middle through pass to Barnes running on the right side.
Robert competes with the opponent and shoots, but it is blocked.
Muriqui also fought hard in defense and encouraged the team, just before the end of the first half.
The opponent tries to dribble deep on the left side of our own field, but Muriki comes back here and puts his body on the line to prevent the opponent's advance.
The audience applauds this play.
Everyone pushes their feelings to the forefront and returns with a 0-0 score.
【Halftime】
Coach Yasuma
"In defense, we need to stop the opponent's speed. In attack, we need to make quick decisions and increase the tempo. We will definitely win!"
【Second half】
Tokyo switches to Yamada, who will make his first appearance since Sec. 4, replacing Hasegawa. He will form a partnership with Okazaki.
Kagoshima does not make player substitutions, and the second half begins with Tokyo's kickoff.
Both teams continue to launch attacks mainly through counterattacks and short counterattacks in the second half.
47 minutes, when receiving the opponent's counterattack, the ball was passed behind the defense line, and Lucas jumped out and made contact with the opponent player while catching the ball.
The team once crouched down but stood up again and continued playing. Throughout the day, the team consistently prevented the opponent's attacks with stable catching.
Tokyo also launches short counters from Muriqui's aggressive press.
55 minutes, Muriqui picks up the ball twice from deep on the left side after chasing it in the opponent's territory.
Furthermore, Muriqui initiated a press from the front line that was synchronized even in the 59th minute and took the ball.
Kogawa breaks through the left side and earns a left corner kick. However, if this corner kick is cleared, we will be vulnerable to a counterattack.
The left side is vertically broken through, facing a 1-3 pinch, but the defense works hard and doesn't allow a goal.
And the biggest chance of the day came in the 63rd minute.
When obtaining a free kick in the opponent's central area, Ogawa's shot is blocked by the wall.
Kono koborekyu wo, Kono ga hiroi DF rain ura ni yawarakai rasuto pasu wo dasu to Sasaki ga nukedashi, aite wo kawashi shuuto wo hanatsu mo ba ni habamarete shimau.
Suruto, setto puree kara pinchi wo mukaete shimau.
66 minutes, a free kick from the right side of the midfield is headed in the center but goes over the frame.
In addition, in the 71st minute, when a left corner kick was given, the ball went to the center of the PA outside instead of in front of the goal. The opposing player was free here and allowed a shot, but it was blocked in front of the goal.
Tokyo replaces Hiraoka with Insoo YU. Positioned on the right side, forming a two-top with Muriqui and Burns.
Change to a double pivot of Suzuki and Kono, and move Sasaki to the left side of the 4-4-2 formation.
However, the flow remains unchanged, and in the 81st minute, they lost the ball in their own center and received a short counterattack.
When expanded from the center to the left side, a shot is taken from the cut-in, but the goalkeeper catches it.
As we continued to endure, in the additional time of 90+1 minutes, Sasaki broke through vertically on the left side and passed it forward to Barnes running ahead.
Barnes competes with the opponent's defender and enters the penalty area, but fails to hit the target with his shot.
The game ended as it is, with a scoreless draw of 0-0.
Thank you very much for your passionate support for FC Tokyo U-23 today.
Thank you for your continued warm support.
[Summary of Coach Yasuma's Press Conference]
"Above all, I would like to express my gratitude to the many fans and supporters who came to this match and supported us."
The match was really good, as we fought patiently and delicately against Kagoshima, who is currently in 4th place and has a sharp counterattack. This includes the 4 teenage defenders and Suzuki, who played as an anchor.
During halftime, there was a very active communication, and Muriqui, Anton Burns, and Nathan Burns were all involved regardless of age, which was a very good sight. I think it was great that each of them was able to assert themselves through repetition.
However, I believe that the emotions that professional sports undoubtedly bring are important, so I hope that the fans and supporters who came today had a good emotional experience and can take back the best emotions. I want to continue to make more and more efforts.
【Player Comments】
《Ogawa》
"I think it's good that we were able to finish the game without conceding any goals as a team. However, there were many dangerous situations in terms of defense, and although we created decisive chances in the attack, not being able to score any goals remains a challenge."
Personally, I think the defense was fairly stable, but in terms of the attack, I think we need to be more aggressive and the accuracy of crosses was really bad today. So, I want to create more decisive chances on my own and build the game more solidly.
(Although the DF line was made up of young members) I was the oldest in the DF line, and I was the only one who had experience with the DF line in J1. So, I tried to convey the speed of that DF line by raising my voice.
(What is your enthusiasm for the next match?) Whether it's J1 or J3, I always give my all and fight, so I want to play a game that will impress the fans and supporters."
