【Player/Coach Comments】
"Keishin Togashi Player"
(Disappointing defeat)
"In the midst of everyone being tired from consecutive games, I didn't feel like the opponent was doing particularly well. It was a shame that it ended up being a close game, but instead of dwelling on this defeat, I think it's important to win the next game and turn the tide. We had chances today, but I feel like the opponent was just one step ahead in the end. The challenge is simply to win the next game. I want to avoid overthinking."
(Started for the first time since the Shonan game)
"The coach told me to give it my all in 45 minutes. While everyone else was tired from playing consecutive games, I was fresher than the other players who were on the field, so I wanted to contribute more in those 45 minutes given to me."
(I think we have another game in 3 days, what should we do as a team?)
"Even if the members change, we have to do what we need to do, whether it's attacking or defending. Each of us needs to be aware of that and approach the next game. I think the soccer we're playing now is a winning soccer, and I believe we're a winning team. If we can win the next home Levain Cup game, I think we can turn the tide and make a good preparation."
"Yuichi MARUYAMA"
(Looking back on today's game)
"I feel that it was a very difficult match. We were able to fight as a team with a sense of unity, and we were also able to create a rhythm from solid defense."
However, a small mistake led to a goal. It's frustrating and we need to fix it in the future. We want to learn from this result and move on to the next.
(What did you focus on as a defender?)
"The pitch became slippery because it started raining, so it was easier to move the ball. We knew that the opponent would use long balls frequently, so we were prepared to win second balls. We were able to play as we had imagined to some extent, but we were defeated by the opponent's cunningness in the scene where we conceded a goal."
(Looking ahead)
"The team's coordination has improved and the condition has also gotten better. Rather than viewing today's result negatively, I want to build up from training with a positive mindset."
"Summary of Tokyo Coach Kenta HASEGAWA's Press Conference"
"It is difficult to accept this result because it was not a game development that would lead to a loss."
C Osaka is a team that fights really tenaciously and picks up second balls without any gaps. We were aware before the game that we needed to be careful of the opponent's long ball attacks and second balls, but we ended up conceding a goal due to our half-hearted play.
Of course, it was a game with only 2 days of rest, so we couldn't fully prepare in training, but we discussed it in meetings and so on. We were able to do it to some extent until then, but in the end, if there is a gap between the GK and DF, I think it will lead to goals like that.
So, I think we need to train hard to raise the level of play and make sure we don't make the same mistakes again and avoid them.
In terms of attack, I think we were able to break through several times in good form, so we need to improve the accuracy of our final passes and finishes. We have to continue working hard in training."
"FC Osaka Manager YOON Jong Hwan's Press Conference Summary"
"First of all, I am grateful to all the people who came to the stadium despite the bad weather. I thought it wouldn't be an easy game against FC Tokyo, who are on a 4-game winning streak in the league. Looking back, it was definitely not an easy game. However, our players showed great concentration and patience in the game. We had some mistakes and various situations, but we were able to score in our chances and secure the victory, which will be a great strength for us. Of course, I don't think we can always play well in this tough schedule. Today, we played better defensively than offensively. It was our first clean sheet in a while, but it was a game where all the players were conscious and focused. It's a tough schedule, but we want to give our best in every game from now on."
Q=In the early stages of the league, we saw a lot of goals conceded, but in the second half of the previous match and this match, the defensive organization seems to have stabilized. Do you feel any sense of accomplishment in that regard?
"I think the most important thing is concentration. The four defenders maintained their concentration for the full 90 minutes. Of course, it's not just because those four played well that we didn't concede any goals. I think it was because of our defensive play from the front that we were able to maintain our concentration for the full 90 minutes. The defenders at the back were also able to maintain their concentration for the full 90 minutes because the front players did a good job with their defensive duties."
