【Player/Coach Comments】
《Kento HASHIMOTO》
(Reviewing today's game)
"It was a difficult game, but I think we were able to keep a clean sheet by having a strong defensive mindset from the start of the game. It's frustrating that we couldn't score, but I believe it was a valuable point gained."
(What did you focus on during the times when you couldn't create a rhythm in the attack and had to be patient?)
"We all made an effort to quickly switch after losing the ball. By switching quickly, there weren't many situations where we had to defend against Kobe's counterattacks."
'I was able to play with the awareness of "First, defense".' I think the team as a whole was able to unify their defensive consciousness."
(Next match, against Kawasaki)
"It's a top match, and I think the opponent will come with momentum. We don't have much time with back-to-back games, but we want to prepare well. I think a lot of fans and supporters will come, so we want to have a good game and win."
"Yuichi MARUYAMA"
It was a draw with a score of 0-0. Looking back on the game, it was a closely contested match and it was difficult to hear the players' voices due to the large number of spectators. I want to take the positive aspect of being able to secure at least 1 point away. It would have been good to score from a set piece and win, but I want to continue playing solidly and carry this 1 point forward in the future.
(It's been a while since we had a clean sheet)
"Although the opponent had more possession of the ball, I think it was because all the players were able to play with their bodies on the line without getting frustrated that we were able to keep a clean sheet today. I think it's a point we earned by fighting together."
(I continued to have matches against tall players. What did you feel as a defender?)
"I didn't win in every situation, but I tried to increase my winning percentage in each situation. The players I faced were all highly skilled, so I want to use this experience in the next match."
"Summary of Tokyo - Kenta HASEGAWA Coach's Press Conference"
"I think even with just one point today, it's good. Every team has a tight schedule, but the players were more fatigued from consecutive games than I expected. In that situation, I think it's very positive that we were able to patiently fight and bring one point back to Tokyo from an away game. It's been a while since our defense has been able to hold up well and protect our bodies.
If possible, since we had a lot of set plays, if we can score from those in this type of game, it will make a difference. That's something we want to work on in the future."
"Q&A"
We played against Kobe Univ, who had 17 goals and a strong attack, and managed to keep a clean sheet. What were the factors that prevented them from scoring?"
"In the previous match, Joe (Nagoya) was there and scored a goal from a very high header. In today's game, the defense line was solid and able to challenge and cover well. Wellington is also a very strong player and had a few dangerous balls, but Maru (Maruyama) responded well. I think Morishige also stayed focused and responded until the end."
"Summary of Kobe Takayuki Yoshida's Press Conference"
"There were good plays and bad plays throughout the game.
To a certain extent, when we had the ball, we faced a few counterattacks from the opponent's strong defense and quick attacks, but in the end, I think everyone did a great job of putting their bodies on the line.
As for our own attacks, I think we were able to avoid the opponent's press to a certain extent. However, we lacked the intensity in the attacking third in the last three minutes.
We need to show more determination to score in the area and put crosses in more dangerous areas.
We were a little lacking in those aspects of play."
