【Player/Coach Comments】
"Takefusa KUBO"
"I wanted to play more aggressively and threaten the opponent by getting more involved with the ball, but overall I think it was a passing grade performance."
(Did you consciously pick up the second ball as a team, including Kubo, and develop the attack?)
"Rather than picking up the second ball, I think my teammates have won the competition against the long ball, so I believe in my teammates and move, so there is nothing in particular that I do."
Since soccer is a team sport, I can't just focus on myself. In order to prioritize the team's victory, I need to firmly fulfill the team's concept while utilizing each individual's characteristics. I think it's great that I was able to learn this now. When it comes to attacking, I hope to showcase my own strengths and contribute to the team's victory."
(Looking back on the scene of hitting the post with a free kick)
"I don't remember much, but it was a good position for a free kick, so I thought I could aim for it. I also considered crossing the ball to the center once. In the midst of that, I was told by player A that "you can shoot" so I aimed for it."
(It was almost as expected)
"I was aiming for more on the left side"
(In the first half, there were scenes where I gave a through pass to player Nagai and in the second half, I carried the ball myself and used my teammates in various options. I think utilizing my teammates is a good aspect of my play, but how was my performance today?)
"There were opportunities in both the first and second halves where I carried the ball and created chances. Once, I passed to player Diego OLIVEIRA, and in the second half, I passed to player Takahagi. In the first half scene, I intended to pass to Diego OLIVEIRA considering the timing, but in the second half, there were various options and I hesitated a bit. I could have also aimed for a shot, but I chose to pass as I thought it had a higher possibility of scoring a goal. Passing to player Tagawa was also an option, and in the end, I hesitated a little."
(The current team has many players who are good at passing, but in the future, it will also be necessary to aim for goals)
"In that scene, if the play comes together, I think it can be a one-point game, so I want to focus on ending it with a good pass or shot."
(There were moments when we had to defend deep in our own half, and I wonder if we always have that kind of play in mind.)
"Last season, my position was different, so I didn't have to defend that deep. I was able to switch properly and take the ball away, which was good for me."
(Coach Hasegawa said in a press conference that his ability to physically challenge and steal the ball has grown rapidly over the past year. Do you feel the same way?)
"I am very happy to hear that. I think it is more important to receive evaluations from others rather than evaluating myself. I want to work hard to earn recognition from the coach and my teammates."
(In yesterday's interview, he commented, "I think I can see a new scenery by standing on this pitch, but how did you feel by participating in the opening game?")
"When I stood on the pitch of Kawasaki, where I belonged during my elementary school days, and received applause from Kawasaki supporters, I felt warm. I think that such aspects are also the driving force behind achieving two consecutive league victories. On the other hand, Tokyo's stands were dyed blue and red with many fans and supporters, and I was very happy that they came to the away game. It was good that we were able to earn at least 1 point in a difficult away game, but I don't think we should be satisfied. Next, it will be another away game, but I want to win firmly and connect it to the home opening game."
Kyosuke TAGAWA
"I was very disappointed that I couldn't score despite having the chance. That's my honest impression right now."
(Looking back at the scene before the goal in the second half)
"In my mind, I had an image of smoothly scoring with one touch, but considering the situation around me and the opponent's situation, I think I could have also trapped the ball, stayed calm, and aimed for the goal. The decision-making in front of the goal was something that the coach had also mentioned, so I think I need to make adjustments."
(After Togawa player played, there was an impression that chances were coming)
"There were situations where there were chances to score goals, so it's disappointing that I couldn't get results there. I feel that if I had kept my head fresh, I could have played calmly even in that situation. I hope to make use of it next time."
(There was an opportunity to play from the opening match as a Tokyo player)
"I think it's a result of my strengths being recognized, and I hope to increase my shooting accuracy without erasing that and earn trust."
(Improving accuracy in front of the goal has been a challenge since last season, but are there any efforts or awareness towards that?)
"I am working on being conscious of my preparation and timing in front of the goal. If I enter too early or too late, it gets congested. In practice, there are times when I can play with good timing against crosses, so I think continuing that and improving decision-making will lead to goals."
"Tokyo - Summary of Coach Kenta HASEGAWA's Press Conference"
"Getting 1 point away is not a bad result. The players have been training with high concentration since the camp to win against Kawasaki. I think it was a game where we wanted to bring back 3 points if possible."
However, there were also times when we were heavily pressed by Kawasaki. We were able to endure and withstand those moments today. We were able to accumulate 1 point against Kawasaki away, so we will aim for victory in the next Shonan match and continue to focus on training.
In the final stages, the game was intense with alternating attacks and defenses, but the defensive line managed the risks and aimed for 3 points, ultimately securing 1 point. We have become capable of playing in such a way. Although we didn't start with a win, we want to continue preparing for the next match with the goal of victory."
(Regarding Kubo's evaluation)
"One word: amazing."
In the first half, the ball couldn't settle down due to the wind, and we couldn't create attacking opportunities without creating some space somewhere. We were able to create space in the east, but we were also able to create time in Ken'ei, and I think we were able to launch a troublesome attack on the opponent. They used the wind well and delivered good balls behind the defense. At the same time, they played selflessly on the defensive side. I think we were able to show everyone the growth since last season."
(The impression is that Okubo has completely changed his image in the past six months)
"Everything has grown. Mentally, I also went on loan to Yokohama FM and learned about a world outside of Tokyo. There, my mentality, which was still immature, is gradually changing into that of an adult."
On the physical side, last season I was immediately robbed or knocked down, but I am able to carry the ball and make plays by myself. I am once again impressed by the amazing growth over the course of this year.
This season, there has been a difference in motivation since the beginning of the camp, and there has been a growth in performance in practice matches. Doan (Ritsu) has reached a level similar to before he went to Europe. I think that if he gains experience in the J-League and plays in the U-20 World Cup, he will quickly reach a level where he can succeed in Europe."
"Kawasaki - Toru ONIKI Press Conference Summary"
"First of all, I am grateful that many supporters gathered for the opening, but I am disappointed that we couldn't win."
The match ended in a draw, but I think it was a game that could have gone either way. Looking back on our team's performance, I think if we had scored a goal during our good period in the second half, we could have changed the game. However, overall, I feel like we didn't have many moments that were characteristic of ourselves. In that sense, we want to keep working towards the next match."
(The factor that we didn't have enough time to play our own game)
"In terms of moving the ball, there may have been an impact of having fewer passes. Including the pressure from the opponent, we lacked a bit of stability. I think that's how we ended up playing with the ball. However, if we could push forward, we had a lot of confidence in circulating the ball, and I think that was the most important factor."
(There was an impression that he was too conscious of individual competition)
"I don't think so, but I feel that there were few movements towards breakthrough. Overall, I think there were some problems with overtaking movements, attacking movements, and movements to take the back."
