【Player/Coach Comments】
Tsuyoshi WATANABE
(Reflecting on today's overall play)
"I want to become a center back who can score goals, but I believe that it is not valuable if I cannot lead the team to victory. Scoring goals is important, but I entered today's game with the determination to keep the score at zero, so I must reflect on the fact that I was unable to do that."
(Looking back at the scoring scene)
"I wanted to score from a corner kick before the game started. A wonderful ball came from player Ota, so all I had to do was to jump in with determination and I did it."
(Was it a goal as I imagined?)
"When I came to Tokyo and continued practicing and playing practice matches, I felt that starting movement and positioning were important, so I played with that in mind. As a result, I was able to receive a ball from player Ota as I imagined and score, so it was a moment when the results of my practice paid off."
(How was the defense?)
"In the first half, we were able to control the ball at our own pace. In the second half, due to the opponent's player substitutions, we ended up defending overall and allowed the opponent to take control, resulting in conceding goals. We couldn't effectively control the flow of the game."
(Regarding the scene of the second goal)
"It was my first experience. I didn't predict that Cristiano would kick a high cross ball from that position in one step. If I had anticipated such a ball, I would have taken a different positioning. I think this experience is very significant, so I want to use this frustration to my advantage in the future."
"Takumi NAKAMURA"
"Looking back on today's game, there were some aspects where we were able to perform well in terms of attack. However, throughout the game, I felt that we still have a long way to go in terms of physicality, so I want to continue to grow even more from now on."
(It was a very calm start to the game)
"I think we had a very good start to the game as a team. However, in the second half, the opponent had more possession of the ball and the game progressed at their pace."
(Regarding the feeling in the attacking phase)
"In the attack, I felt that if I could improve the precision of the final move and finish, it would lead to results. I felt that if I could enhance the coordination with my teammates, it would lead to more chances."
(Although it was a full participation)
"Of course, it's a happy thing. However, I'm not satisfied with the result. I want to continue working harder to contribute to the team's results."
"Tokyo - Summary of Coach Kenta HASEGAWA's Press Conference"
"I think we were able to start the game in a good shape by scoring the opening goal. We had a chance to score the second goal, and I believe that if we had converted it, the result of the game could have changed."
I can only praise Cristiano for the second goal. The ball came in perfectly. However, the group stage has just begun, so we were able to score one goal away, and I want to fight firmly in the remaining five matches and aim to advance to the prime stage."
(There were many chances to score in the first half, but were there any parts that became sloppy in the second half?)
"I don't think it became sloppy, but I think it's a future challenge that we got tired in the second half and the opponent's defenders were able to supply the ball freely to the front line."
Jael was also starting for the first time in an official match, so I think he showed his strengths very well when he was energetic, but I decided to substitute him when he received a yellow card and showed signs of fatigue.
"We will now prepare for the next match, which is the second round of the Levain Cup group stage. This time, we will be facing Sendai with only two days of rest. We need to carefully consider our team members."
"Summary of Kashiwa NELSINHO Coach's Press Conference"
"We were able to enter the game by spreading the ball from the beginning and moving it well in the build-up phase. However, at halftime, we told the players that the opponent was advancing the game advantageously because the time from winning the ball to losing it was too short. We instructed them to firmly shut down the opponent's midfield. By correcting that aspect in the second half, Tokyo's build-up play stopped functioning. I think that was one of the major factors that led to the result this time."
(We adopted a 3-back formation for the first time this season?)
"As for the positioning of this match, we have been telling the players to fight firmly in the B team and have been tactically preparing for this match since last Friday. Looking at the characteristics of our players, there are players who have experience playing in a 3-back formation, and among those who have never played in a 3-back formation, we have been training them to be able to adapt to it since last week, and I think his performance was very good.
In order to fight through the season, we adopted a 3-back formation this time to increase the options for our team's style of play."
