"Tokyo U-23, Coach Tetsu NAGASAWA's Press Conference Summary"
"First of all, I am truly grateful that over 1,000 fans and supporters gathered at Nishigaoka. Despite the fact that you all took the time to come to our U-23 home opener, I am very sorry that we were unable to earn 3 points."
In regards to the match, since young players were participating, we had to play more aggressively.
I think today's defeat was due to not being able to express aggressiveness while enduring against opponents who play with a gritty and tenacious style. Throughout the game, we tried various challenges such as changing positions and player configurations, but it was unsatisfactory and there is still a need for improvement in terms of being able to threaten the opponent.
Since it is a league match, each player needs to make use of experiences like today's in the next game, and it is most important to gain confidence by winning, so I want to prepare well for the next home game against Fujieda.S.
(Is "positioning" referring to the positioning during the game or simply the meaning of arrangement?)
"We were putting too many players in the build-up against opponents who were pressing from the front line."
The goal is to score, so it is important to know where to play when moving the ball. I think it was a waste today because we had too many people behind, and we cannot score without aiming for the opponent's penalty area.
The challenge remains in the position that focuses on attacking with numbers forward.
(Nakamura's position today was on the left side. I think his main position is on the right, but today's evaluation is)
"I want to avoid personal evaluation. However, in modern soccer, it is difficult to play only in one position. In the top team, Ogawa, who is left-handed, also plays on the right side, and Coach Hasegawa demands playing in multiple positions."
"Experiencing something in practice and experiencing it in a real game are completely different, so I appreciate being able to try and play in today's match."
