【Player/Coach Comments】
"Kashif BANGNAGANDE"
"I'm frustrated because we ended up losing, but I want to prepare thoroughly for the second match on Sunday."
(What aspects did you focus on in preparation for this match?)
"I thought it was a rare opportunity for me as Ogawa and Jae Suk OH couldn't play. First, I aimed for the team's victory and planned to actively demonstrate my strengths in the game. I thought it would be great if we could grasp the victory, but unfortunately, we lost. If I get another chance, I want to challenge myself to win next time."
(Did you feel nervous?)
"I was nervous, but Niwa and Watanabe encouraged me, so I was able to smoothly enter the game today. They told me, 'It would be a waste if you played passively here,' so I approached the game with the intention of showcasing my own strengths."
(How much do you think you were able to play?)
"It was my first official match in a while, but once I got into the game, I was able to play without any nerves. However, I still feel that I lack the persistence and quality of play in front of the goal. In terms of attacking, I want to focus more on the quality of crossing balls."
"Masato MORISHIGE Player"
(About the goal conceded)
"The whole team stopped because the linesman raised his flag. However, I think that conceding the goal was a result of spending too much time in that area during that scene. It's not the referee's fault, but the result of each of our play choices."
(The goal was canceled by VAR and we lost 0-1)
"I can say it was good that the goal was canceled. I still think there are plenty of chances in the second game."
(It is very important to finish the second match without conceding a goal)
"We couldn't win, but I think it is important to play like today even in the second match. In that, we want to look for opportunities, aim for goals, and secure a spot in the Final Round."
"Tokyo - Summary of Coach Kenta HASEGAWA's Press Conference"
"(When we conceded a goal), I saw the assistant referee raise his flag and stopped my movement, which was very regrettable. I had told the players before the match not to stop until the whistle blows because VAR would be used. Just at that moment, the assistant referee raised his flag and G Osaka took advantage of the slight pause, resulting in a frustrating outcome. When such mistakes occur, they can lead to goals like that."
We couldn't score an away goal, but in the second half we were able to push forward while managing the risks.
We couldn't score an away goal at the last moment, but even if we lose, we were able to achieve the minimum result and continue the fight at home. So, let's give it our all next time and fight together to advance to the next round."
"Summary of G Osaka Manager Tsuneyasu MIYAMOTO's Press Conference"
(After starting with a 4-back for the first time in a while, the intention and feeling were)
"In the midst of a change in the system, everyone was communicating and I could hear voices from the pitch about when to go for the ball and what kind of slide was needed, so I think that was good.
In terms of attack, there is also the advantage of being able to exchange passes at a closer distance than the system we have been using so far, and when considering the characteristics of the players, I thought about going with a 4-back. I think our team's style is originally to have the ball and advance more advantageously, and I wanted to use today as an opportunity to regain that aspect.
(Today VAR was applied, but it resulted in a negative decision for G Osaka. As a coach, how did you perceive the game being interrupted?)
I think it was good that everyone's minds were able to clear up.
The referee made a firm decision on that play, and I thought it was satisfactory or rather, there was no lingering dissatisfaction for everyone. As for the time of such interruptions, I think we, including ourselves and everyone attending, will get used to it.
