【Player/Coach Comments】

《Keigo HIGASHI Player》
(Although it was a disappointing result, let's reflect on today's match again)
"I think we were able to show the attitude of not giving up until the end. Of course, we wanted to become champions, but I think we gained more experience than that. Our challenge continues and as players, we must continue to challenge ourselves from now on. I want to chew on this frustration and move on to the next."

(The fighting spirit was clearly evident)
"First and foremost, we entered the game with the intention of scoring the opening goal, but ultimately, we conceded three goals."
We have overcome many difficult and challenging matches in the past, but once again, this match made us realize the difficulty of competition.
However, I believe there is always a meaning in playing against Yokohama FM today, so I feel that we must never forget this match.

(It was a fulfilling year spent in the position of first place throughout the season)
"I feel grateful for the experience today, as I want to continue growing and truly, this season, the entire team fought for Tokyo. I want to make the next season an even better year."

(Season spent as captain for the first time in Tokyo)
"Truly the best team. I am sincerely grateful for being able to be the captain of this team. I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to the coach, staff, and all my teammates."

"Masato MORISHIGE Player"
"At halftime, it was 0-2. In order to win, we need to score 6 points in the second half, which realistically has become a difficult situation."
Even in such a situation, many fans and supporters came and fought together, so we faced the second half of the battle again aiming for victory."

(The cheers from the fans and supporters were amazing)
"Amidst the loud cheers, we believed in miracles and fought, but looking back now, I think the game was decided when we conceded two goals in the first half."

(Although we didn't reach the championship, it was a season where we showed our strength)
"It was a fantastic season. We were able to come as far as we couldn't last season."
I think that the accumulation of daily efforts has led to being able to compete for the championship until the final match.
We were still unable to win. I want to use that as motivation and make it a goal for next year.

"Tokyo - Kenta HASEGAWA Coach"
"The players gave their all until the end on this great stage."
We started the game with the intention of scoring one point, but that one point ended up being far away.
In the second half, the players showed a fighting spirit until the end, even in difficult situations. I felt that fighting with that kind of mindset will lead to the next step.
We must connect to the next season without fail.
Yokohama FC had a great fight in the second half and continued to play in the typical Yokohama FC style today.
There are great rivals like Kawasaki and Yokohama FM nearby, which is motivating. Tokyo also needs to aim for the top.
"I hope we can all fight together so that we can raise the trophy next."

(I headed to Yokohama FM for a head-to-head battle. They are a good match, but was there any difference from past matches?)
"The players fought with a strong determination. Teiraton's shot was unlucky. However, the second goal was due to the opponent connecting passes and ultimately being defeated by Erik."
That goal conceded just before the end of the first half may have made the difference in the game.
There was also a big chance here. I thought if we could have taken it, but in terms of the ability to finish, Yokohama FM has scored 68 goals in a year, so we also need to improve our finishing accuracy and goal-scoring ability."

(What was the impact of Diego OLIVEIRA's absence? And why did you change the system?)
"The intention was to use SANGHO in various positions. We could have used him as a second striker, but instead we thought about attacking from the side against Yokohama FM's flat defensive line. It is difficult to swap positions with the opponent's defenders unless you have a player with speed. We wanted to utilize SANGHO on the side while working in tandem with Ogawa to create chances. Also, if we couldn't win the ball in midfield, we couldn't launch attacks, so we had high expectations for Arthur's ability to win the ball."
However, Arthur also missed the timing to pass while carrying the ball.
In such situations, if we could pass the ball behind the defender, the game would have taken a different turn. I also considered his mid-range shots as a source of goals. I think if Diego was here, we would have started with a two-striker formation, but since he's not here, what should we do?
"I chose this way of fighting when I thought about aiming for 4 points while holding back without conceding any goals."

(Looking back on this season)
I learned that I can't gain anything unless I become number one in the end.
However, we were able to fight throughout the year under the pressure of the championship race. I think it is thanks to the players' efforts and the strong support of the club and the fans and supporters.
I think we were able to show the strength of the club even with a schedule of 8 consecutive away games.
"We must make this experience bear fruit in the coming season."

"Yokohama FM Ange POSTECOGLOU Press Conference Summary"
"I think we were able to play a wonderful game with a fantastic performance. The players were really confident and gave their best. It was a difficult situation. It's a strange feeling that if we lose and concede more goals, we would give the championship to Tokyo. We can win the championship with a draw or a victory."
I think the second goal in particular was a fantastic point, and even though we had a player sent off towards the end, we were still able to continue attacking without defending and score a third goal. I am proud of the staff and players. FC Tokyo is strong and definitely not an easy opponent. However, we are the winners. I was really happy."

(I think the biggest factor in winning was convincing the players that they can win with an aggressive style of soccer, but what approach did you take? For example, what did you say to Ilgyu PARK when he was sent off?)
"I think Park took responsibility and stepped forward, and I think he was able to execute the plays he had in mind. When a team is reduced to 10 players, I think many teams tend to focus on defense, but as a result, we were able to score the third goal after going down to 10 players. The players have strong mental strength, and I am proud of them."

(I think Yokohama FM felt that they became a better team compared to last season, but I believe that building a good team and winning are separate things. Even though they lost some players in the summer, they were still able to maintain their quality and win the championship. The main reason is)
"The reason is one, that they believed in their own style of football and played with that belief. When players come to Yokohama FM, we ask if they can play the football that we want to play. Edigar JUNIO, starting from the beginning, achieved a remarkable record of 11 goals, and I think without his goals, we wouldn't be in this position. Unfortunately, he got injured, but I think it's about how much we believe in the football we want to play and that led to this result."
