【Player/Coach Comments】
Diego OLIVEIRA
(I think we were able to progress the game in a good flow in the second half)
"Today's match is against a strong G Osaka team with talented players, even though it's an away game, so it was easy to imagine that it would be a difficult match. However, in the second half, we made adjustments and created spaces, which made it easier to launch quick attacks, and I think we were able to execute our ideal offense."
(Recently, I have been playing more on the side rather than as a forward, but I am evaluating myself)
"I played a lot on the side during my time in Brazil, so I can play without any particular discomfort. I think this position requires a lot of physical effort, so it is a challenging position, but I want to contribute to the team and work hard to make the team even better."
(Looking back at the opening goal)
"Nagai put pressure on the opponent's DF and chased after them multiple times. Nagai was trying to avoid the GK, but the ball ended up coming to me. There was no GK in the goal, so it wasn't my dominant foot, but I think it was good that I was able to accurately score."
(Today's goal is my 50th goal in J1. I am happy that it contributed to the victory.
"I am glad that I was able to score a commemorative goal of 50 goals in such an environment, coming from the opposite side of the Earth and playing here. I want to continue practicing and scoring goals to contribute to the team in the future."
"Joan OUMARI"
(Please look back on today's match)
"G Osaka has really worked hard and launched good attacks, so it wasn't an easy game. However, in the second half, which was tied, we were able to play our own soccer. I think everyone was able to concentrate and show the team's strength."
It was my first victory in a full appearance match in J1 since coming to Tokyo, so I'm really happy.
However, we have no time to rest as the next match is coming. The next one will be the Levain Cup, and we want to prepare well as a team and definitely win.
(How did you play with what kind of consciousness to suppress G Osaka's attacking force?)
"I knew before the game that G Osaka had great players."
In the final stage, we also tried to make power plays, but it was important to show our own strength regardless of the opponent. We aimed to compete with the team's strength, such as believing in our own abilities and covering for each other's mistakes. I think that led to today's victory, and in the future, no matter who the opponent is, we want to play our own soccer first and foremost, and we want to play with that mindset.
Akihiro HAYASHI
(Watanabe from G Osaka had two shots from close range, but I managed to defend well. Reflecting on that scene)
"At that moment, my honest impression is that I was able to react rather than think and stop. Recently, I have been able to practice with that awareness, so I think it was a shot stop that showed the results of that."
(Looking back over the entire match)
"The first half was an unfortunate goal conceded. We managed to keep it at zero after taking the lead, but we ended up conceding a goal. It was very frustrating. However, from there, considering that it was an away game, we approached the match with the intention of keeping it to just one goal conceded."
(About defensive formation)
"It would be best if we could apply pressure from the front, but during this busy summer schedule, the risk is that the team will become disorganized."
I think we can maximize our strengths when we can go, but even when we build a block and defend firmly, it doesn't mean that we are playing defensively. I think we were able to defend to some extent as expected throughout the game. I think it's good if we can control the defense as well."
"Tokyo - Summary of Coach Kenta HASEGAWA's Press Conference"
"We took the lead in the first half, but then we had a difficult period. I think that limiting the opponent's score to one point led to the second half. In the second half, we made some changes to the system, and Takahagi added an accent to our attack."
In the first half, we were unable to smoothly move the ball forward, but in the second half, we were able to play the game at our own rhythm and tempo. We struggled to score additional points, but in the end, we were able to score and finish the game.
In the previous match, the substitute players were unable to change the flow of the game. We talked about playing Tokyo's soccer regardless of whether we start or come off the bench. I think it was very good that all the players came together and were able to defeat G Osaka.
I want to prepare thoroughly because there is a Levain Cup in 3 days.
(What instructions did you give during halftime?)
"After taking the ball, they were in a hurry, so I gave feedback on where the open space was. I think we changed the midfield system and the rhythm improved in both offense and defense. Leandro also changed positions and I hope we can continue to make new discoveries and expand options while playing the game."
(Taking advantage of the lessons learned from the failed escape in the Hiroshima match with a 5-back, we managed to escape properly in the end)
"After the Hiroshima match, I told the players to adopt a decisive approach when playing away. It was an instruction to defend with a solid 5-back instead of a half-hearted 3-back. I had already conveyed this to the players who have been with us since my first and second year in charge, but since there has been a change in players, I reiterated this after the Hiroshima match. I think today, each player fulfilled their roles properly."
(Evaluation of Player Abe and Player Arthur SILVA)
"They are both doing well."
Hayato was able to rest a little on the bench in the previous match, but he is an indispensable player for the game. Arthur SILVA, in the previous match, started on the bench to reduce playing time, but now he is an irreplaceable player. The same can be said for Takahagi. We used Shinada during this period, and Mita also started as an inside half, so we need to consider the midfield for the coming autumn, when the heat and fatigue will become apparent. However, these two players have become irreplaceable.
"Summary of G Osaka Manager Tsuneyasu MIYAMOTO's Press Conference"
(The modification points that Coach Miyamoto is considering, including this match, are not scoring additional points easily.)
"It's not that there are no chances. For example, there were scenes where we swung our legs in front of the goal, and scenes where we had successful headers. There were also scenes where we had the potential to take the lead at 1-1, but there were fewer second and third attacks in the second half. I think there were also moments where we were a bit low in terms of ball recovery, so I would like to watch the footage and analyze it a little more."
