【Player/Coach Comments】
Tsuyoshi WATANABE
"We ended up conceding 2 goals and scoring 3 to win, but I feel that there are many defensive challenges."
(Looking back on the goal that became the winning point)
"When Ogawa player crossed the ball, I was prepared for a possible return, and then Mori Shige player sent me a good ball, so all I had to do was to connect. It was an image of being able to hit it well just by jumping at my own timing."
(About player Go HATANO, who showed a great save)
"Both Go HATANO and I were strongly aware of the continuous goals conceded. In that situation, his proactive play, showing great saves and encouraging the team, is one of the factors that I believe will lead to improvement in the future."
(Ohashi is a teammate from university, but this is what I felt when I matched up with him)
"There was a different sense of tension compared to previous matches. I knew he was an amazing player and someone to be cautious of within Shonan. I also knew about the time he struggled with injuries, so knowing his background made me feel like I absolutely couldn't lose."
"I think it's really good that we were able to win in the end, even though we conceded 2 goals."
(Can we continue to increase our victories from here?)
"I understand that it is really important to win difficult matches, so I want to raise the team's strength by picking up these kinds of matches and be able to win against any opponent in the future."
(Talking to Okazaki and I)
"Before the game, we were talking about not being afraid of mistakes and going all out. We said that nothing good happens if we play passively, so let's actively show our own strengths. He is originally a talented player, so he was a reliable presence."
(About the fact that we often concede first)
"It's not good to start the engine after conceding a goal, and the defense should ideally keep it at zero and make it our own game. How we fight as a team is a challenge for the future."
"Hotaka NAKAMURA"
(The coach had been saying that it was difficult for the full-backs to score, but finally I was able to record an assist.)
"I finally made a goal from a cross ball from the side that I wanted both personally and as a team."
When I actually tried to take it, nothing changed significantly.
If we are satisfied with just this, we won't improve as a team or as individuals. I feel like we have finally reached the starting line.
I, too, but we need to activate the side attack more, including players like Takumi NAKAMURA and Ogawa.
I think I was able to take that first step today, so I want to sincerely rejoice and increase the number in the future.
(Today I was playing as a left fullback, but is it easy to do?)
"It feels like a cross ball with my left foot during practice with my right foot. I'm not a very skilled player, so it was a targeted ball, but not everything went as planned. When I thought about it, I relaxed and the ball went to a good place. I have to challenge myself with both my left and right foot to achieve my goal. I want to increase the number of assists from now on."
(It means that it was a cross ball with no power, but were you conscious of trying to surpass the opponent's head?)
"I am always conscious of crossing the ball over the near center back. It is something that the coach expects from me, and as a crosser, I am conscious of dropping the ball between the two center backs."
Today, Diego TABA was there and as a result, we were able to send the ball there."
(How was the combination with Higashi and Watanabe on the left side?)
"These three players have played together on the right side before, so we were able to communicate and play with Higashi as the focal point. We were able to play while thinking about how to free up Higashi."
(Today's feeling)
"Honestly, I don't think anyone is feeling any sense of accomplishment."
There is nothing but challenges. Among them, the coach was talking about the importance of winning tough games.
I want to take the victory positively and recover quickly because there is another Sendai match, and I want to do my best for the next game.
"Tokyo - Summary of Coach Kenta HASEGAWA's Press Conference"
"It was a difficult game and the performance was not commendable, but I think the players worked hard and managed to secure the victory. I consider it a very significant win."
(There were some difficult moments, but assists from the full-back and goals from Diego were created)
"Diego became the starting point in the center and scored the second goal."
I hope that by riding with us, we can create a core in the front line.
Regarding Hota's cross ball, it is more reliable when he delivers the same cross from the right side, but today I think he gave us a pinpoint cross in a crucial moment.
The bright result is that we were able to score from the side back, which was a challenge since last season, at an early timing of the season.
"We must continue this and fight as a team to score more goals, otherwise it will be meaningless."
(The game was in a situation where the opponent had control of the ball until we caught up with the tie, but we turned the situation around with a goal. How did you see it?)
"We talked about playing boldly before the game. Whether it was good or bad, I was determined to watch over the players and fight in the first half."
In the previous match, Shonan had won against Sendai with a fantastic performance, and it was naturally understood that they were in good form and able to play with a positive mood. The players on the bench were watching to see how they would react to such a Shonan.
I was worried because there were many mistakes, but Tagawa's goal gave the players energy. Since then, the team's movements have improved, and I once again felt that there is no better medicine than a goal.
(How did you see the game throughout the 90 minutes?)
In the early stages, until we win, I always say "until both eyes open," because until we get our second win, the team tends to be nervous about the value, so even if we are winning, we don't want to be caught up, we don't want to lose, and we tend to have that attitude. In the previous match, we were caught up.
We talked about playing aggressively until the end of this match, but somewhere along the way, the desire to win and the desire to be careful took over, so it became a tight game and there was no other choice but to accept it.
It is really tough to win one game, and as we keep winning, the team will also get on board. However, until then, even if we are leading, there will always be anxiety. I think that until we start winning, the players will not gain confidence, so I can't help but feel a sense of chaos.
I think the fact that the players won today is a testament to their perseverance.
"Shonan - Bin UKISHIMA Coach's Press Conference Summary"
"In terms of how the game unfolded, we had the game plan we expected and we thought we could score the opening goal today, so we told the players that. However, during that period of time, we couldn't have the mentality to go for the second goal when we scored, and we ended up conceding two goals."
The reflection of the first half is that we couldn't break the bad flow.
In the second half, we need to have a strong mentality in our attack and aim for the winning goal when we equalize from a good position. However, we conceded a goal like that because we neglected to mark tightly until the opponent's attack ended in the set piece. I think it was a game where we couldn't reach the final goal because we couldn't do what we needed to do at the crucial moment."
(It seems that it was possible to aim for 1 point, but what do you think about that?)
Of course, it was an away game, so we could have aimed for 1 point.
I think there was also a plan not to substitute if we were waiting for a substitution at the timing when we caught up with the tie score, and if we were aiming only for 1 point.
However, I think this game was a game where we could have earned 3 points, and it was the result of going for it, so I wanted to earn 3 points.
