On November 3, 2021 (Wed, holiday), FC Tokyo will host the 2021 Meiji Yasuda J1 League Sec. 34 match against Shimizu S-Pulse at Ajinomoto Stadium. Tokyo Gas Co., Ltd. and Hinata Energy Co., Ltd. will utilize the "J-Credit System" to offset all CO2 emissions (30t※2) generated during the match. We would like to inform you of this carbon offset initiative.

□ Implementation Details
Tokyo Gas and Hinata Energy will offset all CO2 emissions generated during the 2021 Meiji Yasuda J1 League Sec. 34 match between FC Tokyo and Shimizu S-Pulse, which will be held at Ajinomoto Stadium on Nov 3 (Wed, holiday), by utilizing the J-Credit system.

Regarding the environmental activities of Tokyo Gas, Hinatao Energy, and FC Tokyo
Tokyo Gas utilizes the "J-Credit System" at internal and external events and FC Tokyo home games for the purpose of environmental contribution.
Hinata Energy provides easily deployable renewable energy through solar energy services for buildings and apartments, and is working towards achieving a decarbonized society. Please note that this is the first time we are utilizing the "J-Credit System".
In addition, FC Tokyo has been working on environmental contributions such as the recycling activity of PET bottles collected at the game venue "ECO Pass Project in Ajinomoto Stadium", the use of reusable cups during game operations, and the use of personal chopsticks by business staff.
The three companies will continue to actively contribute to the improvement of regional and global environmental issues through efforts to reduce environmental impact, including CO2 reduction.

※1 Carbon offset is the concept of offsetting greenhouse gas emissions, such as CO2, which cannot be avoided in daily life and economic activities. It involves making efforts to reduce emissions as much as possible through reduction efforts, and investing in activities to reduce greenhouse gas emissions that are inevitably emitted, in order to offset the emitted greenhouse gases.

※2 FC Tokyo's home games are expected to emit approximately 30 tons of CO2 per game due to game operations at the stadium and energy consumption from the transportation of visitors, players, and staff. This is equivalent to the amount of CO2 absorbed by about 2,000 cedar trees in one year.

※3 The J-Credit system is a system in which the government certifies the amount of greenhouse gas emissions reduction and absorption, such as CO2, through initiatives such as the introduction of energy-saving equipment and forest management, as "credits". The credits generated by this system can be used for various purposes, such as achieving the goals of a low-carbon society and carbon offsetting.
