- Day 1 -
The first-year students of U-15 Fukagawa are on an expedition to Vietnam starting today.
In this expedition, we will participate in two tournaments: "6th Vietnam Japan International Youth Cup U-13" and "1st 2024 Son Lam Ge An International Youth Soccer Tournament", focusing on competing as a team in a foreign land while aiming for further growth in individual competitiveness.
Gather at Haneda Airport on Nov 11 (Wed) at 23:30. After being seen off by parents, we will depart Japan at 1:30 on Dec 12 (Thu).
After a flight of about 6 hours, we arrived in Vietnam at around 5:30 local time. We then transferred to the hotel by bus.
Without a moment to catch their breath, the players trained at the match venue, which is a 5-minute walk from the hotel. In addition to the high temperature of 30°C, the humidity was also quite high, and despite suffering from the heat, which is the complete opposite of Japan, the players sweated for about an hour doing stretches, running, and passing the ball to prepare for tomorrow's match.
After lunch, we participated in the opening ceremony of the "6th Vietnam Japan International Youth Cup U-13 Tournament," and we could see the players from the Vietnamese team actively trying to interact with each other.
Next, we watched the opening game. Kawasaki Frontale U-15 Todoroki battled against the local team Megabex Binh Duong, with support from other Japanese teams, creating an exciting atmosphere throughout the venue.
The matches will finally begin tomorrow. Two group league matches will be held.
I will go to bed early tonight to avoid carrying the fatigue from the long journey and training into tomorrow.
