□ Personal Comment
"I have decided to retire as a professional soccer player after 20 years. First of all, I would like to express my deep gratitude to the presidents, club officials, team staff, teammates, sponsors, and fans and supporters of Yokohama, Kobe, Tokushima, Tochigi, and FC Tokyo, where I have been a member for the past 20 years."
Since graduating from high school, I have been able to continue my active career for 20 years, even though I am not a great player. This is thanks to the support of many people. I am especially grateful to my wife and three children, who have always been by my side, encouraging me even in the toughest times.
Looking back on these 20 years, I can honestly say that I have nothing but regrets. However, I have also had some truly wonderful experiences, such as winning the league championship and being named MVP of the Nabisco Cup. I have no regrets about the dedication and hard work I have put into soccer day after day.
I will start a new start as a coach from next season. I am very happy and honored to be able to start that start at FC Tokyo. Just like my player life, I want to walk with the people of Tokyo with the spirit of "making progress day by day" as a coach.
Thank you very much for your support so far. And we kindly ask for your continued support in the future.
