□ Personal Comment
"I have decided to transfer to JEF United Ichihara Chiba."
I had many discussions with the club regarding this transfer. While I have been with the club for a long time, I haven't been able to produce significant results in terms of numbers. However, they have offered me a new season as a player. In addition, I am grateful to President Ookane, General Manager Tateishi, and Coach Shinoda for showing me many options to stay with the club. I would also like to express my gratitude to my teammates, coaches, and business staff who have supported me, as well as the club officials. Thank you very much.
This decision was not easy for me or my family. I believe that many people around me did not want me to leave FC Tokyo, which I was familiar with. What motivated me in that situation was the desire to be an ambitious soccer player until retirement.
If you are a member of FC Tokyo, you have a comfortable place as the oldest player in the new season, and there are fans and supporters who are kind to you whether you play in the game or not. After spending such a year, I retired. It would be easy, but something is different. I thought so.
My challenge, now that I'm 37 years old, is by no means smooth, and there are not only positive voices about this transfer, but all of that is part of the challenge. I think the professional world is a place where you have to carve your own path and make your own history. I will approach my battle with the determination that it may be my last year, and I truly want it to be a culmination where I give it my all to the point where I think, "I can't run anymore!"
The club tried to provide an opportunity for direct greetings to the fans and supporters on the occasion of this transfer, but due to scheduling issues, it ended up being a written greeting like this. However, the support and encouragement you all have sent me have definitely been the driving force that moves my heart and body, and that is why I believe I am here now and this transfer has become a reality.
I am looking forward to the day when I can meet you all again with a smile. And I sincerely hope for the development of the club and the league championship. Thank you very much for everything until now.
