Day 3 of the France expedition.
Today, we traveled by bus for 2 and a half hours to the tournament venue, Sansu.
After that, we played against the local Sansu City U-15 selection.
We received a welcome from the tournament chairman (representative of France's largest newspaper company) at the venue.
The chairman mentioned that the education for children in Japan is well taken care of and wonderful. He also mentioned that France would like to learn from it.
In addition, since you have come to France, I want you to embrace French culture.
First, he talked about the importance of accepting the idea of starting with a handshake as a greeting.
The training match venue had natural turf, but the pitch condition was different from Japan, creating an environment where the ball bounced a little more easily.
After a good performance yesterday, the situation has completely changed, and we couldn't adapt to the environment from the start, trailing 0-1 at halftime.
In the second half, we scored two goals as we got used to various aspects, and won with a total score of 2-1.
The ability to confirm the pitch the day before the tournament was a valuable experience for both players and staff.
We will make use of today's lesson and prepare for tomorrow's tournament.
In addition, 500 volunteer staff members are involved in the operation of this tournament, allowing us to experience the maturity of local sports culture in France up close.
The team moved to the Sansu Police Academy dormitory, taking 2 and a half hours.
This is where we will be staying during the tournament. The local government is very supportive of sports, so we can feel the high level of interest from the people.
A meal called couscous from North Africa was prepared at the dining venue.
"First, we received words from the chairman saying, 'Please accept and eat,' and the players also gained new experiences."
At night, the staff will convey tough talks to the players in preparation for the tournament, approaching it with a greater sense of tension as a team.
We will fulfill our respective responsibilities and bring about results.
