Announcement of the passing of Advisor Yoshinobu Ishii

Our club advisor, Mr. Yoshinobu Ishii, passed away on April 26, 2018 (Thu). We pray for the repose of his soul and respectfully announce this news.


Yoshinobu Ishii, who has served as an advisor to our club since 2001, has passed away at the age of 79. During his tenure, he contributed greatly to the development of the club, primarily focusing on team strengthening and serving as a consultant on various aspects of club management. He also made significant contributions to the development of Japanese soccer, including serving as the national team coach.

□  Hometown: Hiroshima Prefecture

□  Biography:

During his active career, he achieved brilliant results such as winning the Emperor's Cup and league championships at Toyo Industries. After retiring, he took command of the Fujita Industries Club Soccer Team and won numerous titles. From 1986 to 1987, he served as the coach of the Japan national team, and later played a central role in the establishment of the J-League, making significant contributions to the development of FC Tokyo and the Japanese soccer world.
