【U-18】Sweden Expedition Day 6

Day 6 of the expedition.
Finally, today marks the start of the "Gothia Cup".


FC Tokyo participates in the "U-17 Elite" category.
A group league consisting of 4 teams will compete in 3 matches, followed by a ranking tournament based on their performance.
(Group stage matches are 60 minutes with 30 minutes per half)

The opponent for Tokyo's first group stage match is Djurgardens lF U-17, a local team from the Swedish League 1.
The start was tense, and overall the movement was sluggish, making it difficult to grasp the rhythm.
However, after 10 minutes, we gradually become able to move the ball in the opponent's territory.


15 minutes, GK Nozawa's punt kick, Ueda competes with the opponent's DF and breaks through to the back, but the opponent's GK comes out and collides, Ueda quickly reacts to the loose ball and pushes it into the goal to take the lead!
Furthermore, in the 22nd minute, starting from Numata's sharp ball interception in the center of the pitch, Yasuda and Umehara combined to break through the opponent's central defense, and Umehara scored a goal!

The first half ends with a score of 2-0.

Stay focused even in the second half and don't allow the opponent to counterattack.
In the 50th minute, Tachikawa picked up a loose ball from a free kick and struck a powerful shot, but it was saved by the opposing GK, narrowly missing an additional goal.

After that, the game continued with repeated player substitutions, and in the end, all members of the expedition, including GK Kamoshita who participated from U-15, stood on the pitch and the game ended. (Due to tournament regulations, free substitution system)


We won the important first match with the power of everyone.
Tomorrow's opponent is the strong Spanish team, Deportivo Alaves.
