U-18 will be conducting a training camp in Abu Dhabi, UAE starting today.
Before departure at Narita Airport, the players received encouragement from Takashi Okuhara, the Director of Player Development, and reaffirmed the purpose of this expedition.
Teppei OKA, representing the players, expressed his determination, saying, "I will do my best to not lose to foreign players in both my feelings and my play. I will also become stronger as an individual and return to Japan."
After a flight of approximately 13 hours, we arrived at Abu Dhabi Airport in the United Arab Emirates at 1 am local time.
We then moved to the hotel and safely arrived at our destination.
The hotel breakfast is in buffet style.
All of them tasted delicious, and the players piled various dishes on their plates and ate them all without leaving any.
We conducted an orientation for the expedition during the day.
I received a talk from a representative of the Japan International Cooperation Center about the purpose and background of this expedition, while discussing the international relations between Japan and the UAE.
The players seemed to have fun learning through a quiz format.
Training was conducted on this day.
The temperature was around 24℃ and the weather was comfortable with little humidity.
Players push themselves to the limit by engaging in activities such as running and training with the ball, ensuring that their bodies are in motion!
After that, we moved to the stadium to watch the AE League.
During halftime, we interacted with local Japanese residents and enjoyed light snacks together.
Children received ballpoint pens as gifts from the players. Everyone was happy.
We will continue our expedition while experiencing various people and cultures!
