捲土重来を期す、神戸との対戦

　前節コンサドーレ札幌に4対0と大勝し、これをきっかけに2ndステージの巻き返しを図りたい東京。だが決して浮かれてはいられない。今節は難敵・ヴィッセル神戸と対戦する。神戸とは過去J1リーグの対戦で1分4敗。今春のナビスコカップ予選リーグでこそ、1勝1分と勝ち越して溜飲をさげたが、リーグ戦ではまだ1勝もあげていない苦手の相手だ。2ndステージは、ともに4勝4敗同士でほぼ互角の成績。だが神戸はFWオゼアスやMFアリソンの加入で決定力不足も解消され、チームのムードも上向き。1stステージの敗戦が響き、年間14位と降格の危機は避けられていないが、勝点を奪うために気迫と意地のプレーで対抗してくるだろう。

　過去の対戦ではいずれも、神戸のパワーあふれるディフェンスの前に攻め切れず、逆にカウンターを受けて僅差で敗れるという形が多かっただけに、厳しい戦いになることが予想される。だが悪いデータは払拭し、連勝をめざしたい一戦だ。

　アジア大会より戻った茂庭、石川が元気な姿をみせ、それぞれセンターバック、右MFとしてスターティングメンバーに名を連ねた。メンバー表では3人のDFだが、藤山を左サイドバックに置く4-5-1の布陣で臨み、雨の国立競技場、神戸のキックオフでスタートした。

A Beef With Kobe 

Following the 4-0 thrashing of Consadole in the previous game TOKYO looked to have revitalised their season. Unfortunately the opponents for the 9th. game of the second stage were perennial bogeymen Vissel Kobe; in their five previous encounters TOKYO had recorded one draw and four losses for one point from a possible 15. TOKYO managed a win and a draw in the group stage of this year's Nabisco Cup but were still searching for a first League win over the men in black and white. Both sides had identical W4 L4 records going into the match but Vissel, boosted by the goals of Oseas and Harison, were definitely in better form. 
TOKYO welcomed Moniwa and Ishikawa back from the Asian Games and both made the starting eleven; only three defenders were named but Fujiyama slotted in on the left in a 4-5-1 formation. Vissel started the ball rolling at a rain lashed National Stadium. 

先制されるも、アマラオのPKですぐさま追いつく！

　立ち上がりから、一進一退の攻防が続いた。1分、東京は宮沢のロングパスに左サイドので戸田が追いつくと、フォローに上がった石川がシュート。3分には神戸・右サイドバックの菅原が攻め上がってシュート。5分には今度は東京。浅利からのボールを加地がヘッドで右サイドのスペースに落とすと、走り込んだ石川がクロスを上げてアマラオがシュート。神戸は9分にMF望月のパスにFW播戸がスピードを活かしてゴール前に抜け出しシュートしたが、土肥がセーブ。お互いにしっかりと守る中、マイボールにすると速い攻撃に切り替えてチャンスをつくっていった。

　16分には神戸がボランチの佐伯からサイドに展開、望月の右からのクロスにMFアリソンがヘディングシュート。直後には東京石川が右サイドからインに切り込んでシュートを放つ。19分には、神戸のボランチ・シジクレイのパスを、ペナルティエリアの中でFWオゼアスがヘッドで落とし、播戸が決定的なシュートモーションに入るが、ジャーン、茂庭が素早く詰めてピンチは免れた。

　ここまで決して慌てず、神戸の攻撃に対応してきた東京だった。だが25分、神戸はオゼアスが前線で起点となって中盤でキープすると、右サイドのアリソンから攻め上がってきた佐伯にパス。フリーでペナルティエリア右に入った佐伯がゴール前にグラウンダーのクロスを送ると、東京のセンターバックが神戸の2トップをマークしている間を縫って望月がシュート。これが決まり、東京は先制点を許してしまった。

　神戸の4バックと2ボランチの堅いディフェンスの前にボールを支配することができなくなりつつあった東京だが、29分、右サイドでケリー→加地のパス交換から、再びケリーがペナルティエリアの中で受け、前を向こうとした瞬間だった。神戸DFがケリーに対してファールを犯し、PKをゲット。これをアマラオがきっちり左下隅に決め、同点に追いついた。

　この得点で勢いが戻った東京。31分には素早いカウンターから石川がドリブルで駆け上がると、ゴール前のスペースに鋭いスルーパス。これに戸田がドンピシャのタイミングで抜け出しシュートを放ったが、相手GKの果敢な飛び出しにセーブを許す。だが今日の東京は、戸田が相手GKとDFの間に走り込む狙いが徹底されており、34分には自陣深い位置からの加地のロングパスに戸田が抜け出し、フリーでシュート。決定的なシーンとなったがボールはクロスバーを叩き、追加点のチャンスは惜しくも逃して、後半へと折り返した。

Vissel Lead But Amaral Ties It 

Both teams began in a positive mood with TOKYO registering the first shot on goal in the very first minute through Ishikawa, Vissel responding through Sugawara soon after. In the 5th. minute Kaji nodded Asari's high ball into the path of Ishikawa who crossed for Amaral to shoot; Mochizuki released Bando with a smart through ball but TOKYO keeper Doi saved sharply. The passing was crisp, the tackles firm and the movement fluid. Chances came thick and fast: Mochizuki crossed for Harison to head wide, Ishikawa bore down the wing then cut inside and fired over and in the 19th. minute Bando seemed certain to score from Oseas's knock down but a double block by Moniwa and Jean averted the danger. 
TOKYO's approach play was the more incisive but it was Vissel who took the lead in the 25th. minute. Oseas held the ball up in midfield and found Harison who fed the overlapping Saeki; Saeki rolled a low cross into the area for the surging Mochizuki to clip a right footed shot past Doi. 
Parity was quickly restored, though, as Kelly had his heels clipped attempting to turn just inside the area following a sharp exchange of passes with Kaji and the referee unhesitatingly pointed to the spot. Amaral converted in his customary fashion. 
Gaining the equaliser so quickly lifted TOKYO and a lightning fast counter attack in the 31st minute should have seen them take the lead but the Vissel keeper produced a superb save to deny Toda after a sublime through ball from Ishikawa had split the defence. The keeper was helpless in the 34th. minute as Toda again streaked onto a long ball over the visitors' defence but saw his firmly struck effort rebound off the cross bar and away. The highly entertaining first half ended 1-1. 

ジャーンの初ゴールで勝ち越すも…

　1対1で迎えた後半、最初にビッグチャンスを迎えたのは東京だった。49分、後ろからの浮球のボールを右サイドでうまいトラップでとらえた石川が中に切り込み、ラストは左サイドにパス。戸田がシュートを放ったが、相手GKの好セーブに合う。だがこれで奪った右CKのボールは先にGKがはじいたが、ほぼ同時に飛び込んでいたジャーンがヘディングで押し込みゴール！　ジャーンのJリーグ初ゴールで、勝ち越し点を奪った。

　ところが、その2分後のことだった。神戸右サイドの菅原から中央へパス。アリソンがゴール前に送ると、播戸が体勢を崩しながらもつなぎ、こぼれたボールをオゼアスが抜け目なく拾ってシュート。原監督が後に反省したように、自陣でのルーズボールを加地がクリアに逃れず、前につなごうとしたところを奪い返され、中盤での展開を許して、最後は決定力のあるオゼアスに同点ゴールを決められてしまった。

　前半とはまったく逆の展開に、東京は押し込まれることに。58分には、シジクレイのパスに播戸が抜け出してシュート。60分は、東京DFのクリアボールを拾ってつなぎ、アリソンがヘディングシュート。クリアボールをことごとく拾われる展開に。

　だが東京も62分には、加地のロングパスに石川がうまく飛び出し、粘ってCKを得る。63分には、再び加地が中盤でのプレスがないと見るやドリブルで前線まで攻め上がり、左ペナルティエリアのケリーにラストパス。だがトラップのボールをDFにカットされ、シュートは打てなかった。64分には、左サイドに流れた石川のクロスに戸田が飛び込んだが、わずかに合わず。神戸の隙を突いてチャンスをつくったが決めることができず、68分には戸田に替えて福田を投入した。

　アマラオ、福田を2トップに、宮沢を前に上げて、追加点を奪いにいこうという東京。77分には藤山のクロスのクリアボールをケリーが拾い、右ペナルティエリア内から石川がGKとDFの間にグラウンダーのクロスを送る。ゴール前で福田が合わせたが、DFに阻まれ惜しくもゴールはならず。79分には神戸が右サイドのクロスに、佐伯がタイミング良く走り込んでシュートを放つが、枠外にそれると、81分には再び東京のビッグチャンス。カウンターからボールを回してチャンスをうかがうと、ラストは加地のクロスに合わせ、ゴール前に飛び込んだケリーがダイレクトでシュート。だが無念にもボールはクロスバーを叩いた。84分には、神戸が右サイドのFKからシジクレイがフリーでヘッドを叩きつけたが、わずかに枠外。

　結局両チームともにチャンスはつくりながら得点することはできず、延長戦へと突入した。

Jean Strikes But..... 

The first good chance of the second half fell to TOKYO in the 49th. minute. 
Out on the right Ishikawa immaculately controlled a floated ball and crossed for Toda to strike first time; the Kobe keeper dived full length to tip the ball around the post. From the corner Jean rose imperiously to power a header down and over the line for his first goal for the club. TOKYO were ahead but it didn't last long. Just two minutes, to be precise, as Oseas reacted fastest to a deflected loose ball to fire home from ten metres. 
TOKYO suddenly found themselves on the defensive as the pendulum swung back to Vissel Kobe. Bando latched on to Sidiclei's long ball in the 58th. minute and crashed in a shot while a poor clearance presented Harison with a free header soon after but he was unable to take advantage of some defensive generosity. 
TOKYO fought back and fashioned a few half chances that came to naught; Toda made way for Fukuda in the 68th. minute as TOKYO switched to a twin striker formation with Miyazawa tucked in behind. Fukuda almost had the ball in the net in the 77th. minute from Ishikawa's low cross to the near post but a desperate lunge from a defender deflected the ball around the post. Saeki fired wide following a neat Kobe counter attack shortly after and Kelly struck the crossbar with a first time effort from Kaji's cross in the 81st. minute. Neither side proved capable of seizing any of the large number of chances created and the match moved into extra time. 

今シーズン初の延長勝利、宮沢のVゴールで神戸を沈める

　3節の広島戦から6試合ぶりの延長戦。だが今シーズン、ここまで延長戦では2分3敗と勝利のない東京にとって、守りきれるかどうかがポイントになると思われた。しかし勝負は呆気なくかたがついた。

　延長戦のキックオフからボールをつないだ東京。相手のクリアボールもよく拾ってパスを回し、ゴールに迫る。そして延長開始40秒、藤山のクロスを相手DFがクリア。だがこのボールが神戸選手に当たり、ゴール前にいたアマラオの足元へ。アマラオがシュートモーションに入る前に、駆け寄った神戸DF土屋が再びクリアしたが、これが甘く、ペナルティアーク付近にこぼれた。そこに走り込んだ宮沢が左足を振り抜くと、右下隅に決まってゴール！　ここまで苦しんだのが嘘のように、呆気なくVゴール勝利が決まった。

　勝点2ではあったが、苦手の神戸を相手に、今シーズン初の延長勝ちで2連勝を果たしたことは大きな成果だといえよう。

【原監督の会見要旨】「今シーズンは延長に入ると勝ちきれず、Vゴール負けの印象が残っていた。ステージを通した流れも、良くなりかけては今ひとつよくならなかったが、今日の勝利でもう少し上をめざして行けると思う。石川と茂庭を先発で使ったのは、アジア大会でいろいろな経験をしてきたから。個人的に悔しさがあったようで、ここで試合をしたいという思いが伝わってきた。彼らのモチベーションの高さに賭けた。しばらくチームを離れていたので東京のリズムに入れないという面もあったが、要所要所でいい仕事をしてくれたと思う。本当は勝点3を取りたかったし、つなごうとして奪われ、ミスから失点した場面など、そのあたりは詰めていかなければいけない。ただ先制されても追いついて、また同点に追いつかれても踏ん張ってVゴールで勝てたことは自信になる」

【神戸・松田監督の会見要旨】「内容は悪くなかったと思うので、結果が出なかったのが残念。2点取れたこと自体は評価しているし、失点も崩されて取られたわけではない。それでも勝たなければいけないのがこの世界だが、また次の試合が続く中で不満足な内容ではなかった」

Miyazawa Bags First " V Goal " Win 

TOKYO's record in matches requiring extra time this season wasn't good: drawn two, lost three. The key seemed to lie in maintaining concentration in defence. However they began the first period going forward and moved the ball around with Fujiyama then launching a cross into the area. A Vissel defender attempted a volleyed clearance but the ball struck a teammate and landed at Amaral's feet. As Amaral lined up his shot Kobe defender Tsuchiya stretched to poke the ball away; the clearance was underhit and Miyazawa, from just outside the area, struck left footed, low and hard, just inside the right post. TOKYO had snatched a dramatic and well earned victory just 40 seconds into extra time. The triumph brought only two points but it marked the first League victory over bogey team Kobe, the first " V Goal " win this year and the second consecutive win. 

TOKYO manager Hara: 
" Given our record in extra time games this year I just have an impression of losing them. Today's win won't go a long way to alter the course of the season but should raise our sights a little. Ishikawa and Moniwa came back with some useful experience from playing in the Asian Games but, of course, they couldn't fit back in straight away after missing a few matches. We struggled to find our rhythm in places and made mistakes that led to goals but, after being behind and then being pegged back when we were ahead, the team fought well to earn a victory and that should be a confidence booster ". 

Kobe manager Matsuda: 
" I don't think we played badly at all, we just didn't get the result today. We scored twice and lost but that's football ".
