2002年シーズン開幕、“攻撃サッカー”で、主役の座はオレたちが

　待ちに待った2002年のJ１リーグ、開幕戦は鹿島アントラーズをホームに迎え撃つ。昨シーズンのJリーグチャンピオンとの対戦、そして他チームに先駆けて栄えある開幕ゲームをホームで迎える東京は、それだけ“主役”にもなれる大きなチャンスが与えられたということだ。このチャンスに、原博実新監督が掲げる“攻撃サッカー”がどんな形で実を結ぶのか、期待に胸はふくらむ。

　スターティングメンバ―は、DF＝右から小林稔、ジャ―ン、伊藤、下平。MF＝三浦、宮沢のダブルボランチ、右に佐藤、左・小林成光、トップ下にケリー。FW＝アマラオ。昨年までと同様のフォーメーションでキックオフに臨んだ。

Thrilling Football Highlights Opening Day Victory Over Champions! 

After a long, long wait the 2002 J-League season finally arrived with the first game against last years' champions Kashima Antlers providing a stern test for the much-trumpeted attacking football of new manager Hiromi Hara. Expectation reached fever pitch as the new season kicked off in brilliant sunshine at a packed Tokyo Stadium. 

小林成光、絶好調！　それぞれが持ち味を活かして鹿島を圧倒

　試合開始から、両チームともプレッシャーを厳しくかけるサッカーを展開。お互いに簡単にはゴール前に迫ることができない中、７分には宮沢がミドルシュートを放ち、鹿島に対して一歩も引けをとらない姿勢をみせる。それどころか、９分には佐藤が三浦とのワン・ツーパスから抜け出すと、ゴール前にフリーで抜けだしシュート。ボールは惜しくもゴールポストを叩いたが、切り替えの速いカウンターにキレをみせてリズムをつかんだ。

　そして11分、中盤でボールを奪うと、ケリーからパスを受けた佐藤が右サイドをドリブルで疾走、エンドライン際の深い位置から絶妙のグラウンダーのクロスを送る。ケリーも中央で詰めていたが、その左後ろから小林成が鹿島DFの間に走り込む形で合わせてゴール！　小林成はこの形で、先週行なわれたトレーニングマッチのハレルヤ戦でも得点しており、狙い通りの展開で先制点を奪った！

　その後もボランチの三浦、宮沢が、労を惜しまぬ運動量でまさに攻守の基点に。17分には、その宮沢から小林成につなぐと、ラストパスはセットプレーの流れから上がっていた伊藤に。これを伊藤が落ちついて決め、判断の速さが光る一連のプレーで追加点を奪った。

　動きの重い鹿島のミスにも助けられ、終始東京ペースで試合は進む。鹿島は左サイドのアウグストを中心に反撃を試みるも、ジャ―ンを中心としたDFラインがきっちり対応。41分、鹿島はそのアウグストからのボールをFW鈴木がつなぎ、ペナルティエリアでフリーになっていた小笠原がシュート。決定的なピンチであったが、GK土肥がファインプレーでセーブ！　東京は、選手それぞれが持てる力を発揮する。44分は、アマラオ→左の小林成とパスがわたると、最後は中央に走り込んだケリーがボールを受け、難なくシュートを放ってゴールイン！　鹿島のDFを翻弄するダイレクトプレーで、試合を決定付ける３点目を奪い、前半を終了した。

Masamitsu Kobayashi Shines as Tokyo Run Riot! 

The game began at a frantic pace as both teams battled for the upper hand in midfield. Neither were able to impose themselves until the 9th. minute when Miura and Sato played a neat one-two, allowing the latter to run on unmarked and thunder a shot against the corner of post and bar; suddenly F. C. Tokyo had found their rhythm. 
They took the lead 2 minutes later as Kelly set the sparkling Sato away down the right side. His low cross provoked a leisurely discussion among the Antlers defence as to who should clear it and Masamitsu Kobayashi raced in to flick the ball past the disgusted keeper. 
The Antlers had no answer to the power and hard work of Miura and Miyazawa in midfield with the latter instrumental in the second goal just 6 minutes later. He picked out Masamitsu Kobayashi whose perfectly timed pass put Ito through inside the box. Ito kept his cool and deftly beat the goalie for a 2-0 lead. 
The sluggish Antlers were struggling all over the field and their sporadic attacks, led by Augusto, were repelled by the Tokyo back line with the formidable Jean at the centre. In the 41st. minute Suzuki slipped the ball to Ogasawara whose cracking shot was superbly tipped over by Doi at full stretch. A crucial save, it proved, as two minutes later the Antlers defence again stopped to admire F. C. Tokyo's marvelous approach work, leaving Kelly with the simplest of tap-ins from Masamitsu Kobayashi's cross. The first half ended 3-0 and the F. C. Tokyo players left the field to a standing ovation. 

鹿島の反撃を受けるも、攻撃的な姿勢は衰えず勝利で飾る！

　後半も東京の闘志は衰えなかった。１対１の場面で小林成は積極的に勝負し、宮沢は広い視野でスルーパスを狙う。サイド攻撃に対しては、アマラオ、ケリーに続き三浦もゴール前に飛び込む形で厚みのある攻撃を展開。52分は、またしても左の佐藤からクロスに、今度は中央でアマラオがとびこみ、こぼれたところを小林成が左足でゲット！　小林成の全得点に絡むで活躍で東京は４点目を奪う。

　４点差になっても気持ちの緩みは感じられなかったが、この頃からさすがに運動量が落ち、ラインが間延びしてしまう。アマラオ→福田、佐藤→ルーキーの馬場の交代で乗りきろうとするが、79分には鹿島に一瞬のスキをつかれて、本山のクロスを交代出場で入ったFW平瀬に決められてしまう。ロスタイムにも、本山のクロスに合わせたDF秋田の意地のヘッドで追加点を許したが、ここでタイムアップ。課題も当然あるが、それを補って余りある攻撃サッカーでJ1リーグ３年連続の開幕戦勝利を飾った！

　初戦にして“これが東京の攻撃サッカーだ”という姿勢が存分にピッチの上で表われた素晴らしい内容、そして何よりも、昨年まで大熊清前監督が築きあげた「粘り強い」「最後まで諦めない」サッカーをベースに“攻撃サッカー”に転じたところに、ただ理想を追うだけでなく現実感が感じられた。新シーズンに充分期待を抱かせる素晴らしい勝利であった。

【原監督の会見要旨】「監督に就任してからずっと攻撃的なサッカーをしたいと話してきたが、実際に始動してみて選手からはひたむきさが感じられ、その時改めて『攻めにいって、とられてもすぐ取り返す』、そんなサッカーができるという確信が持てた。今日は、練習でやってきたことを選手たちが怖がらないでやってくれた。自分がやろうとしていることに応えてくれたこと、その姿勢が嬉しい。簡単ではないが、これからもこういうサッカーをやるという姿勢を打ち出し続けていきたい。２失点については、取られる時は取られると思っていたので、あえて今日のゲームに点数をつけるなら百点をつけてもいい。選手達は本当に良くやってくれた」

Antlers Fightback But Tokyo Claim Stunning Victory! 

Even with a three goal lead Tokyo didn't ease up in the second half, pressuring the Antlers right across the park, and Masamitsu Kobayashi reaped more reward for his splendid contribution to the game when he smashed a loose ball through the Antlers keepers legs in the 52nd. minute to make it 4-0. 
At last Tokyo began to show signs of fatigue and Amaral and Sato were replaced by Fukuda and Baba respectively. A few chinks appeared in the hitherto water tight defence; Hirase headed in Motoyama's cross after 79 minutes and in the 89th. minute Akita gave the visitors a late consolation with another header. The final whistle blew for a memorable 4-2 win, the third consecutive year F. C. Tokyo have won the opening game. 
The tenacity instilled under former manager Kiyoshi Okuma still remains; new manager Hiromi Hara's vision of attacking football has been welded to it and the results were clear to all - a breathtaking display of fluent, attractive football and solid defending. Expectations for the season are sky high. 

Manager Hara: Well, as manager I preach attacking football and sometimes you have to put your money where your mouth is. Today the players brought everything we had worked on in training to the game and applied it without fear. It's not an easy thing to do-forget the late goals we conceded, I'd give this performance full marks. The players did very, very well.
