2ndステージ開幕、気持ちを新たに初戦に臨む！

　1stステージ終了より2週間のインターバルを経て、2ndステージが開幕。1stステージ終盤は3連敗と、結果が出せず苦しんだ東京。今ステージでの巻き返しを図るべく、気持ちも新たにこの開幕戦に臨む。

　対するジェフユナイテッド市原は、1stステージ後半6試合を5勝1分で乗りきり、好調を維持。アウェーゲームで厳しい戦いになることは予想されるが、今後を占う意味でも大事な初戦だ。なんとか勝利をもぎとって勢いに乗りたい。

F.C.TOKYO Aim For Victory In Second Stage Opener 

The opponents for the opening game of the second stage were JEF United who had finished the first stage strongly with a won 5 drawn 1 record in the final six games. A tough match was expected.

市原のビッグチャンスにもゴールを許さず

　ゲームは慎重に立ち上がった。互いにコンパクトな布陣を保ち、左右からワイドに攻めようとする両チーム。東京は5分に、左CKからジャーンがヘディングでゴールを狙うが相手GKがキャッチ。6分には、東京DFの甘いクリアボールをつないで市原のエース崔がシュート。8分には、東京の右サイドで市原左MF村井がDFを切り返し、マイナスのクロスに合わせてMF武藤が走り込みシュート。両サイドを起点に攻める市原に対して、東京は徐々に押し込まれていく。だが、戸田を筆頭に中盤での厳しいチェックでボールを奪い返し、ゴール前ではジャーンが空中戦の強さを発揮、決定的なチャンスはつくらせない。

　21分には、左CKから市原DFのクリアボールを茂庭がひろってシュートするが枠外。23分には、中盤でパスカットしたボールをケリー→宮沢とつなぎ、ペナルティエリア中央でケリーがリターンを受けてシュートを放ったが、GKがキャッチ。

　主導権を握り始めた市原は、24分にはボランチの阿部からのロングパスに反応した武藤がDFラインの裏に抜け出し、あわやというシーンであったが、一歩早く土肥がキャッチ。38分には、市原右サイドからのスローインをゴールエリア近くで受けたMF長谷部が後方にパスを戻すと、阿部がペナルティエリア右角に走り込んで強烈なシュート。だがボールはわずかにゴール左にはずれ、東京はピンチを逃れた。

　だが東京の攻撃は中央に片寄り、ことごとく相手ゴール前でカットされてしまう。43分には福田、ケリー、石川の3人でカウンターから速攻をかけるが、これもDFの網にかかり不発。逆に44分、市原は左ショートコーナーから阿部がゴールと平行気味にファーサイドに向かうクロスを送る。これに土肥が飛び出したが届かず、受けたDFミリノビッチが無人のゴールに向かってヘディングシュート。しかし伊藤があきらめることなく戻り、ゴールイン寸前でクリア。この伊藤の超ファインプレーでゴールは許さなかったものの、どこか精彩の欠く戦いぶりで後半へと折り返した。

JEF U Miss A Sitter 

The game kicked off with both sides adopting a compact formation and looking to spread the play wide to the wings. Jean went up for a corner after only 5 minutes and made contact but the keeper held the ball cleanly. A minute later a poor clearance by the TOKYO defence allowed JEF ace striker Choi a shot on goal and in the 8th. minute Murai breached the defence again and pulled the ball back for Muto to shoot. The visitors slowly began to exert a grip on the midfield with the terrier-like Toda battling to regain possession and Jean dominating in the air. 
In the 21st minute Moniwa latched onto a cleared corner and fired narrowly wide; soon after a midfield interception saw Kelly find Miyazawa whose neat return pass reached Kelly just inside the area but the JEF keeper held his shot. 
In response JEF increased the tempo and a long ball over the TOKYO defence from Abe saw Doi race out to deny Muto. In the 38th. minute a throw in on the right reached Hasebe just outside the TOKYO area; he slipped the ball inside for Abe to thunder a shot fractionally wide of the left post. 
The TOKYO attack had become one-dimensional, straight through the middle, and rarely threatened the JEF goal. With a minute of the first half remaining JEF won a corner, played short to Abe who floated a teasing cross into the TOKYO area. Doi decided to come for the ball but failed to reach it and JEF defender Milinovic seemed certain to score as his header flew towards the unprotected goal. From nowhere Tetsuya Ito appeared to hook the ball clear and save TOKYO's bacon. Thanks to Ito's dramatic goal line clearance the first half ended 0-0.

積極的な姿勢をみせる東京　アマラオ投入で俄然勢いづく！

　後半開始直後、市原は左からのクロスに合わせ崔がヘディングシュート。立ち上がり早々に冷や汗をかく場面となったが、土肥がセーブして事無きを得た。その後52分、右サイドに流れたケリーからのパスを受けて石川が強引に中央に攻め込み、東京はゴールに向かって積極的な姿勢を見せ始める。そして55分には福田に替えてアマラオを投入。この采配が見事にあたり、チームは活気付く。

　56分には、右サイドからケリー→中央の石川→左サイド戸田にパスをつなぐと、戸田はペナルティエリアの中に侵入、ゴール前にラストパスを送る。このボールにケリーとアマラオが詰めたが、わずかに合わず。57分、ロングパスがDFラインの裏に飛び出した戸田にピタリとわたったが、これはトラップが大きくシュートには至らなかった。58分には、アマラオから攻め上がったケリーにパスがわたると、ケリーは速い判断で中央に送ると、走り込んだ戸田が一旦DFを引きつけ左サイドにパス。ここに石川がフリーで走り込みシュート。ボールは力が入りすぎゴールの上にはずれたが、東京は立て続けにチャンスをつくった。

The Right Stuff 

JEF began the second half aggressively with Choi powering a header wide soon after the restart. TOKYO were on the back foot and only Doi was keeping them in the game. A surging run from Ishikawa in the 52nd. minute relieved the pressure, as did the introduction of Amaral for Fukuda soon after. The complexion of the game changed almost immediately; a sparkling move that began with Kelly in midfield saw Toda bursting into the area and crossing. 
TOKYO players were queuing up for the ball but in their eagerness none managed to make contact. A minute later a pin point pass over the JEF defence found Toda but poor control let him down. In the 58th. minute Kelly and Amaral combined to present Ishikawa with a clear shot on goal but he fired over the bar. 
TOKYO were creating chances almost at will. 

ケリーの先制点を一丸となって守り抜き、開幕勝利!!

　アマラオが前線でキープすることによって、戸田や石川がスペースを突く動きが冴える東京。60分には、宮沢からのスルーパスに戸田がオフサイドラインギリギリの飛び出しを見せる。61分には、左サイドにポジションチェンジした石川からアマラオとつなぎ、ケリーがシュート。この東京の動きに市原は、67分左MF村井に替えてMF羽生を、69分には武藤に替えてMFモラフチクと攻撃的な選手を投入し対抗しようとしてきた。

　だが東京の勢いは途切れず、71分には下平が右サイドを駆け上がった加地にロングパス、フォローに入った石川がエンドライン際まで深く切り込み、クロスを送る。惜しくもDFにカットされたが、東京の攻撃らしい、サイドを起点にしたいい形をみせた。

　そして76分、中盤右サイドでキープしていたケリーが、ペナルティアーク付近の石川にパスを送ると猛然とゴール前にダッシュ。受けた石川は、ケリーの動きをよく見て抜群のタイミングで右ペナルティエリア内にヘッドでパス。走り込んだケリーが豪快にゴールネットに突き刺し、東京は待望のゴールをあげた！

　この後、78分には加地に替えて4月以来の出場となる小峯を、80分には戸田に替えて馬場を投入した東京。小峯は右サイドでアグレッシブな守備をみせ、馬場はフレッシュなプレーと取られたら取り返す粘り強さもみせ、大きなアクセントとなった。

　市原も84分にはボランチの長谷部に替えてスピードのあるFW林を投入し、最後まで反撃を試みるが、東京DFは集中を切らさず対応。ケリーの挙げた先制点をきっちり守り抜いてタイムアップ。アウェーで勝ち点3を奪う健闘をみせ、2ndステージ制覇に向けて幸先のよいスタートをきった。

【原監督の会見要旨】「1stステージでは前半飛ばしてリードして、後半逆転されるというゲームが続いていたので、今日は前半慎重に入っていこうとした。そしたら慎重になりすぎ、攻撃にもいかず、中途半端に守っているという形になってしまった。ただ悪いなりに良くしのいだので、怖がらないでいこうと話した。後半からは両サイドバックを起点にしながら、いい形で攻められるようになった。アマラオのコンディションが100パーセントではなかったので、いつ投入するか考えていた。相手を疲れさせて勝負どころで投入すればリズムが変わると思っていたが、狙い通りになった。前線でキープができ、押し上げもしやすくなった。決して褒められるような内容ではなかったが、今まで失点していた時間をなんとかしのいで、アマラオが入ったことによって、いい時間にケリーが取ってくれた。リードしたら守備のスペシャリストである小峯を入れて、守備固めをするという対応もできた。このスタートに勝てたことは選手の自信になるだろう。もう少し伸び伸びやれるようになれば、攻撃的にいきたいのはもちろんだが、慎重にいくときは慎重にと、試合の中で駆け引きができるようになると思う」

【市原・ベングロシュ監督の会見要旨】「前半はまずまずの展開で、両チームともにいいゲーム運びであったと思う。だが後半は前半のようにアクティブに動けなかったし、ポジショニングもよくなかった。後半は自分たちがボールを保持していても前にいくような動きがなかった。前半の1、2回のチャンスに決めていることができれば、違った試合になっていたと思う。前半と後半で違ったゲームをしてしまった」

Kelly Bags The Winner 

With Amaral maintaining possession upfield Toda and Ishikawa were able to attack the space in the JEF defence. The chances continued and a very close offside decision against Miyazawa in the 60th. minute saved JEF again. A sharp passing movement involving Ishikawa and Amaral set up Kelly for another effort soon after. JEF responded by replacing Murai and Muto with Hanyu and Moravcik respectively, as they sought to stem the tide by switching to a more attacking formation. TOKYO were not to be denied, however, and a typical move saw Kaji's long ball pick out Shimotaira on the right. Shimotaira fed Ishikawa on the overlap but the JEF defence scrambled to clear his cross. 
The goal that TOKYO had been threatening for so long finally arrived in the 76th. minute. Kelly, on the right side of midfield, played a pass through to Ishikawa on the edge of the JEF area, and set off on a fierce run at the heart of the JEF defence. Ishikawa, with perfect timing, rolled the ball into Kelly's path and a superb first time shot sent the ball hurtling into the net. In the 78th. minute Komine replaced Kaji for his first appearance in nearly 4 months and soon after Baba replaced Toda. The aggressive defensive qualities of Komine on the right and the fresh legs of Baba in midfield effectively preempted the expected JEF bombardment of the TOKYO goal as full time loomed. Defensive midfielder Hasebe was replaced by speedy forward Hayashi as a last throw of the dice but the TOKYO defence held firm and Kelly's strike proved decisive as TOKYO held on to collect the win and a well deserved three points. 

Manager Hara: 
" Well, after the first stage where we often took an early lead only to fall behind later in the game, I told the players to be careful today. Unfortunately they were too careful and we couldn't really create much going forward, but in the second half we brought our wing backs into play and attacked well. Amaral wasn't 100% today and I was concerned about when to bring him on so I decided to wait until our opponents began to show signs of tiredness, and I think that it worked out very well. He was able to hold the ball up, we didn't concede a goal and Kelly scored at an opportune time. Our defensive specialist Komine came on and performed well. This result will boost the players confidence. Of course we would like to attack more but we must be pragmatic and use our cunning ". 

JEF U Manager Venglos: 
" Both teams played well in the first half, but our movement and positioning were not good after the break. If we had only been able to take advantage of one or two of the chances we created in the first half it would have been a completely different game".
