気合いダー！開幕戦ダー！

いよいよJ1リーグが開幕、ホーム 味の素スタジアムで新潟と対戦する。東京は、J2の99年から開幕戦には連勝中。今日も勝利に大いに期待がかかる。2月27日に行われた川崎とのプレシーズンマッチでは無得点で敗れ、不安も残しているが、原監督はダニーロについて「まだチームと日本のサッカーに慣れていない」と話し、宮沢を先発に。馬場、梶山をケガで欠く中盤は、ボランチに今野、トップ下に栗澤と宮沢。右に石川、左に戸田。DFラインは茂庭が復帰し、おなじみの4バックで臨む。昨季より攻撃的な4-5-1の布陣を敷くが、今シーズンの最大のテーマは「いかに点を取るか」。ここまで多くのトライを重ね、バリエーションを増やしてきた。誰が出ても同じ目標に向かってそれぞれの力を発揮、攻撃的なサッカーで点を取り、勝利をめざす。

一方新潟とは2年連続の開幕カードとなった。反町康治監督は「FC東京は横綱の下に位置するチーム。それに対して小結の僕たちがどこまでやれるか…」と謙遜気味だが、昨季の新潟は1stステージこそ14位と奮わなかったものの、2ndステージは7位と躍進。反町監督も「東京は相手に関係なく、自分たちの良さを前面に押し出してくるチーム。それを踏まえて自分たちの力を出していくことになる」と対策は練っているようだ。2月にはブラジルキャンプを行い、多くの実戦を積んでこの試合に臨んできた。

キックオフ前、アニマル浜口がゲスト出演としてパフォーマンスを披露。「気合い」エネルギーをスタジアム全体に注入し、午後7時4分にファンの期待が膨らむ中、キックオフされた。

Here We Go! 

At long last the 2005 J.League season began with the visit of Albirex Niigata to Ajinomoto Stadium. TOKYO had won every opening day game since the J2 days of 1999 and anticipation ran high for that to continue. Following the 1-0 defeat to Kawasaki Frontale in the pre-season friendly the previous week manager Hara had declared new Brazilian signing Danilo unused to the team and Japanese football and selected Miyazawa in his place. With Baba and Kajiyama injured Konno played as lone defensive midfielder, Miyazawa and Kurisawa played behind striker Lucas while Toda and Ishikawa filled their usual positions on the flanks. Moniwa returned from injury in an unchanged back four. The formation was an offensive 4-5-1 as manager Hara attempted to find the variation in attack that would increase the chance of scoring. TOKYO's commitment to attacking football utilizing the individual skills of the players remained as strong as ever. 
TOKYO were facing Albirex in the opening fixture for the second consecutive year. Before the game Albirex manager Sorimachi downplayed his team's chances using sumo rankings to compare the sides; Albirex finished 17th. in the First Stage in 2004 but produced a creditable Second Stage performance to finish 7th. "It doesn't matter who the opponent is," he commented, "we just concentrate on our own game. That way we can play to the best of our ability". The team had a training camp in Brazil in February and had played several friendles in preparation for the first game. 
Before kick off popular wrestler Animal Hamaguchi worked the crowd into a frenzy with a spirited motivational performance and the intensity reached a peak as the game began at just after 7pm. 

速い攻撃でアグレッシブに攻めて、石川が今野が決める。

　試合開始からアグレッシブにボールを取りにいき、速い攻撃から多くのチャンスをつくった。開始1分には、自陣でボールを奪い、左サイドの戸田が疾走。クロスにルーカスがヘディングシュート。2分には今度は右サイドを石川がドリブルで上がり、速いクロスに再びルーカスがヘッドで合わせる。8分には自陣からのロングボールにルーカスがヘディングシュート。6分には右エリアに石川が切り込み、こぼれ球を拾った加地がグラウンダーのクロス。ゴール前に栗澤が飛び込んだがヒットせず。いずれもゴールにはならなかったが、奪っては宮沢の配球から両サイドが猛攻を仕掛け、試合の主導権を握る。

　迎えた11分、右CKから今野がヘディングシュート。枠をとらえられなかったが、次のプレーとなった相手ゴールキックを石川がカット。センターライン付近から相手陣内に猛然と弧を描くように駆け上がり、右エリアから思い切ったシュート。これがゴール前に密集した敵味方、誰にも触れずに左サイドネットにゴールイン！石川の積極的にチャレンジする姿勢が先制点を呼び込んだ。　押し込まれた新潟は、15分にFWエジミウソンがミドルを放ち、今日初のシュート。結果的に前半のシュートはこの1本だけとなる。21分には、宮沢の自陣からの大きなサイドチェンジが右の石川にピタリと渡る。石川はサイド深くまで突破。エンドライン際からのクロスは新潟DFに阻まれたが、苦し紛れのクリアに対し、走りこんだ今野が左エリア外から地を這うシュートをネットに突き刺しゴール！　理想的な展開から追加点を奪った。

　24分には、左クロスのこぼれ球をルーカスが拾ってシュート。完全にボールを支配して優位に立つ東京。30分を過ぎるころから少しペースを落としたが、リズムは失っていない。32分新潟は左サイドでDF青野とFW鈴木慎がワンツーをかわし、ゴール前にラストパスを送るも、難なく土肥がキャッチ。34分には、新潟の攻撃をDFラインでジャーンが奪い、栗澤がスペースを駆け上がるとゴール前にラストパス。飛び込んだルーカスにわずかに合わず。38分には新潟の攻撃。左サイドをMFファビーニョが突破。右へのサイドチェンジに右DF海本が走りこみ、中へ折り返すが、土肥がキャッチ。42分には加地のアーリークロスを戸田が落とし、ゴールを背に受けたルーカスが振り向きざまにシュートしたが、バーの上。44分には新潟はゴール前の浮き球のパスに鈴木慎が抜け出すが、茂庭が冷静に対処。奪っては切り替え速く攻撃を仕掛け、新潟を圧倒。2点リードで後半へと折り返した。

TOKYO Rampant As Ishikawa, Konno Strike Early 

TOKYO began the game aggressively, winning the ball and launching high speed attacks. In the first minute Toda outpaced a defender down the left and crossed towards Lucas who headed narrowly wide. In the 2nd. minute Ishikawa dribbled down the right and centred to Lucas with a similar result. Ishikawa dribbled into the area in the 6th. minute but was blocked out; Kaji pounced on the loose ball and drilled a low cross into the six yard box that Kurisawa, at full stretch, missed by a whisker. TOKYO had seized the initiative with Miyazawa distributing the ball impressively from midfield out to the flanks. 
In the 11th. minute Konno headed a corner over the bar and when Nozawa, the Albirex keeper, scuffed the goal kick out towards the right touchline Ishikawa latched onto the ball and set off for goal at full speed. With teammates and opponents racing into the area ahead of him Ishikawa shot early and low and somehow the ball evaded the mass of players in the goalmouth to nestle just inside the far post. The goal was a direct result of Ishikawa's positive approach and ample reward for his efforts. Edmilson mustered the first shot for Albirex in the 15th. minute, a long range effort that Doi held easily. It would be their only chance of the first period. In the 21st. minute Miyazawa unleashed a sublime pass out to Ishikawa on the right; Ishikawa hared to the byline and centred. The panicky Albirex defence cleared the ball only as far as Konno, just outside the area, and he lashed an unstoppable low drive past the keeper for the second goal. It was a perfect start for F.C.TOKYO. 
Lucas nearly made it three in the 24th. minute but fired a loose ball just wide of the post. TOKYO were in total command. The blistering pace began to slacken a little around the half hour mark, allowing Albirex to enjoy more posession. In the 32nd. minute defender Aono and forward Suzuki played a one two through the centre but Doi reacted sharply to smother the danger. In the 34th. minute Jean stole the ball from an Albirex forward and fed Kurisawa; Kurisawa raced into space but Lucas failed to make contact with the final ball. Albirex countered in the 38th. minute through Fabinho on the left but Doi cleanly held Kaimoto's header into the danger area. In the 42nd. minute Toda knocked Kaji's early cross down to Lucas who swiveled and volleyed just over the bar. In the 44th. minute Moniwa coolly dealt with a threatening ball lofted over the TOKYO backline into the path of Suzuki. An excellent all-round performance saw TOKYO maintain the two goal lead at half time. 

ルーカスがとどめを刺し、J1開幕戦6連勝！

　前半終盤から降りだした冷たい雨の中、後半がスタート。新潟キックオフのボールを金沢がカット。中央に攻め上がり、ラストパスを受けた戸田がシュート。GKがはじいたところに栗澤が詰めるも、ゴールならず。その後、48分には一瞬のスキを突かれ、エリア内にMF本間の攻め上がりを許す。58分には右FKからゴール前にFW上野が飛び込む。ロングボールを放り込み、こぼれ球を拾って攻撃につなげる新潟に攻め込みを許す場面も見られたが、守備陣が慌てることなく対応。

　直後のプレーだった。59分、土肥を起点に速攻を仕掛け、石川にロングパスがわたる。右エリアで受けた石川は相手DF3人の間をすり抜けるように勝負を仕掛け、倒れこみながら一旦はボールを失いかけたが、そのこぼれ球に詰めたルーカスがゴール！　粘った石川と、詰めたルーカスのコンビで3点目を奪った。気落ちする新潟を尻目に、62分には相手陣内での安易なクリアを拾ったルーカスが左エリアまで侵入。相手DFをかわし、角度のないところから放ったシュートは豪快にネット右上を突き刺し、4点目をゲットした。

　その後、攻めに出るしかない新潟は、65分に新加入のMFリマを投入。73分にはそのリマがエリア内への浮き球のパスに抜け出し、フリーでシュート体勢に入るが、ジャーンが体を寄せてボールはバーを越す。70分には右CKからDF海本慶がシュート。ゴール前のこぼれに鈴木慎が詰めるがジャストミートせず。78分にはDF海本幸が2回目の警告を受け、退場に。11人対10人の中、82分にはここまでフル稼働で活躍した石川に代えてダニーロを、87分には宮沢に代えて三浦を投入。その後も両者攻め合い、シュートシーンの多いスピーディな展開となったが、ともにゴールは許さず。東京は90分を通じて、アグレッシブなボール奪取から速い攻撃でチャンスをつくり、サイドアタック、ルーカスの個人技など、多彩な得点パターンをみせた。守っては茂庭、ジャーンの身体を張った守備で新潟の攻撃を抑え、圧勝。今季より1ステージ制になったJ1リーグで、最高のスタートを切った。

　【選手コメント】《宮沢》「点数をつけるのは難しいが自分としては70～75点のでき。サイドチェンジからチャンスを作れたことはよかったが、シュートを決めること、後半もっとボールに絡むことが課題。もっとこぼれ球を拾って、試合を落ち着かせていきたい」《石川》「ホームでの開幕戦で最初から積極的にいこうとした。宮沢選手からのサイドチェンジがどんどん出てきていたので、動き出しのを早さにを気をつけた。先制のシュート勢いがは弱く、思いどおりではなかったが、あそこで打つことが大事だと思っている」《ルーカス》「（自身の）2点目はもちろんゴールに向かって打ったが、狙おうとしても入るところではないかも（笑）。今日の試合は素直にいい試合だったが、長いシーズンだ。もっともっとレベルアップしていきたい」

　【原監督の会見要旨】「開幕戦はずっと連続で勝っているので、続けられてよかった。先週のプレシーズンマッチまでダニーロを見極めたが、もう少し時間がかかると判断した。宮沢がずっと好調だったので、そこだけ変えた。我々のもっている良さというのはシンプルに速いところ。今季のキーポイントは、『今野のワンボランチ？』と言う人が多いが、石川や戸田、鈴木規や小林ら、ウイングで勝負できる選手を置いて、いかにそこを使えるかと考えている。今日は怖がらずに前からボールを取りにいって、宮沢や栗澤のパスから石川、戸田を使え、それでリズムに乗れたと思う。1試合に2点取りたいと話していて、4点取れたことはうれしい誤算（笑）。ただ開幕は勝っても、そのあとが大事。最高のスタートは切れたが、我々のシンプルでもスピードあふれる攻撃、あるいはサイドから崩す攻撃を徹底してやっていきたい。（後半はリズムが落ちたが前半飛ばしすぎたからか？）ずっと速いペースを続けられるかというとそれはムリなところもある。新潟は後半になって、我々のプレスに対し、ダイレクトで早めに放り込んで、こぼれ球を拾いに来ていた。放り込まれたことは仕方がないが、拾い合いはしっかり競って、速い攻めだけは徹底しようと。相手がロングボールを蹴ってきた時にどうするか。その駆け引きは課題。少し引いた戦い方も取り入れながら、臨機応変にやっていきたい。昨季はアウェーでの成績がよくないので、広島戦に向けていい準備をしていきたい」

　【新潟・反町監督の会見要旨】「新潟からたくさん応援にきていただいたが、残念な結果で責任を感じている。選手には、ゲームを終わった後に『0対1でやられようが0対2でやられようが勝ち点はゼロ』とポジティブに話し、次のゲームに備える。寝ていても次は来るので、これからどうするかということ。目標から立てていかなければならない。試合の内容は、東京の良さを助長させた戦いになった。十分予想できたことだが、先行逃げ切りの東京に先行され、逃げ切られ、原監督にジャンプされて（苦笑）、いいところがまったくなかった。ただ狙いも出たゲームなので、そこはピックアップして、悪いところは修正していく。東京のボールにいく、人にいくという連続したプレスにはまってしまった。だが東京も1週間前のプレシーズンマッチでブーイングを受けて発奮したはず。我々も今日受けたブーイングを前向きにとらえ、今日の東京のようなアグレッシブな戦いができるようにチームをもっていきたい」

Lucas Strikes To Seal Victory 

The heavy rain that began falling at the end of the first half continued into the second but the miserable weather failed to cool TOKYO's ardor. Kanazawa interecepted a loose pass straight from the kick off and found Toda; the Albirex keeper failed to hold his powerful strike and Kurisawa nearly bundled the ball over the line. The visitors threatened more than in the first half with long balls out of defence aimed towards the strikers but the TOKYO defence maintained concentration and smothered the danger. 
Doi cleanly held a free kick in the 58th. minute and found Ishikawa with a sharp kick out to the wing. Ishikawa dribbled between three defenders and into the area; as he fell under pressure he managed to prod the ball into the path of Lucas who dispatched it past Nozawa for the third goal. Ishikawa's persistance and Lucas' sweet strike had earned the vital third goal. Albirex visibly wilted and Lucas hammered the final nail into their coffin barely three minutes later, pouncing on a poor clearance to burst past a defender and crash a shot into the roof of the net from a seemingly impossible angle. 
Albirex sent on Anderson Lima in the 65th. minute and their best chance of the half fell to the new signing in 73rd. minute as he ran onto a pass floated over the TOKYO defence. Jean flung himself forward and succeeded in forcing Anderson to shoot over the bar. Albirex briefly threatened from a corner in the 70th. minute but a thoroughly miserable evening for the visitors was completed when Kojiro Kaimoto was sent off after receiving a second yellow card for a pointless foul on Ishikawa. 
Ishikawa made way for Danilo in the 82nd. minute and Miura replaced Miyazawa in the 87th. Both sides attacked until the final whistle blew on a comprehensive 4-0 win for F.C.TOKYO. It had been a deeply satisfying performance: aggressively winning the ball right across the field, decisively attacking at high speed and using the flanks to deliver top quality crosses, coupled with Lucas' individual skill. Moniwa and Jean gave towering performances, totally dominating central defence. All in all, the best possible start to the season.

Miyazawa 
"It's difficult to grade your own performance but I'd give myself 70-75 today. We used the wings well but my shooting and contribution in the second half weren't as good. I need to win more loose balls and be a little more composed". 

Ishikawa 
"It was the first game and we were at home so we wanted to be as positive as possible from the start. Miyazawa played a lot of balls out to the wing so I had to pay attention to my speed and timing in making runs. The shot for the first goal was weak and not what I had intended but the most important thing is to shoot when there is a chance, I think". 

Lucas 
"For the second goal of course I was aiming to score but I didn't think it would go in. Today was a good performance but it's a long season; I want to improve my game as much as possible". 


F.C.TOKYO manager Hara 
"TOKYO have won the first game of the season for many years now and we really wanted to continue that run. I watched Danilo closely in the friendly last week and decided it was better to give him a little more time. Miyazawa has been in very good form recently and that was the only change I made. Our strengths lie in our speed and straightforward play. Many people have questioned the formation with Konno as sole defensive midfielder but with Toda, Ishikawa, Norio Suzuki and Kobayashi all able to play in wide positions we have been considering it. The players pushed forward without fear today and the quality of passes from Miyazawa and Kurisawa to Toda and Ishikawa allowed them to use their speed and we found our rhythm. I said I expected the team to score two goals a game so four today is a real bonus. Just winning the first game is the most important thing. That was the best possible start for us today: we aim to perfect our style of direct, fast football using the wings to pull opponents apart. The pace fell in the second half but it's impossible to maintain that intensity for the full 90 minutes. Also, Albirex began playing the long ball more, bypassing the midfield, looking to pick up knock downs and loose balls. We have to learn to deal with that tactic and adapt our play accordingly. The next game is away to Sanfrecce Hiroshima, where we don't have a particularly good record, so we'll be looking to prepare thoroughly for that". 

Albirex manager Sorimachi 
"Many fans came down from Niigata and I feel a strong responsibility for the poor result. After the game I told the players that even if we lose 1-0 or 2-0 we still get no points. We really allowed TOKYO to play to their strengths today and although we had anticipated that we couldn't do anything about it. There wasn't anything positive to take from this performance. Still, TOKYO were booed after last week's pre-season match so hopefully the booing we received today will serve to inspire the team the way it obviously did for TOKYO. We have to work hard on our weak points and play as aggressively as our opponents did in the next match".
