連敗脱出に向け、チーム一丸となって戦う

　J1リーグ第7節はアウェーでガンバ大阪との対戦。前節は浦和にリーグ戦初勝利を献上、2連敗となり3勝1分2敗で順位も4位となった。ここ2試合は自慢の堅守が機能せず、先に失点を許し、ズルズルと相手ペースで試合が終わってしまうパターンが続いている。また攻撃陣はここ2試合無得点と、勝敗以上に心配なところである。

　G大阪もエンジン全開とはいえない。現在1勝4分1敗の7位。ここ3戦を連続で引き分けて、勝ちきれない状況だ。ただ、FW大黒、フェルナンジーニョ、MFアラウージョの攻撃陣は要注意である。3人で自由に動き回り、ドリブルやワンツーからフィニッシュに持ち込むことができ、調子に乗ると抑えるのは難しいだろう。また、セットプレーとなれば日本代表のMF遠藤がおり、十分に警戒しなければならない。

　対する東京は、ケガ人が続出し、藤田、茂庭、藤山、加地に続き、今度は梶山が左膝関節炎で約3週間の離脱となり、苦しい状況である。しかし、前節茂庭に代わって入った増嶋は、失点は許したものの、浦和攻撃陣相手に1対1、ヘディングの競り合いでも互角以上の戦いをし、代わりのメンバーで十分に出来るところをみせていた。またケガで出遅れていた馬場が控えに入り、勝負どころでの起用で、どんなプレーをしてくれるのか楽しみでもある。また、昨季はG大阪に対して、ナビスコカップを含め3戦3勝と、相性の良さもプラスに考えたいところである。

　今後、上位そして優勝を狙っていくチームとして、これ以上の連敗は許されないところである。試合は3:04pm、東京のキックオフで開始された。

TOKYO Unite To Beat The Slump 

F.C.TOKYO traveled to Osaka to take on Gamba in the 7th. League game of the season. The loss to Reds in the previous game had dropped the club to 4th. in the standings with a W3 D1 L2 record; more worrying was the defensive frailty exposed in two consecutive defeats and the sudden lack of offensive capability. 
Gamba were far from peak form as the W1 D4 L1 record showed and had drawn their previous three games. However forwards Oguro and Fernandinho, together with attacking midfielder Araujo posed a threat with their dribbling ability and one twos around the box. Japan National Team midfielder Endo added aerial power at set plays and the TOKYO defence would need to maintain a high level of concentration to deal with the Gamba attack. 
The injury woes continued to pile up for TOKYO; in addition to missing Fujita, Kaji, Moniwa and Fujiyama a knee injury had sidelined Kajiyama for 3 weeks. The one bright point had been the performance of Masushima in the Reds game; despite the loss the young centre back had dealt with the threat of Emerson extremely well and the TOKYO management kept faith with the same back line that started that game. Baba made a welcome return from injury to the bench. TOKYO had beaten Gamba three times in 2004 in all competitions and were looking forward to ending the mini slump in emphatic fashion. The visitors kicked off just after 3pm.

戸田の今季初ゴールで先制する！

　G大阪は3バックにDF宮本を、ボランチにMFシジクレイを入れ、予想通り3-5-2の布陣で挑んできた。キックオフからいきなりG大阪がチャンスをつくり、シュートを放つなど攻撃的な姿勢できたが、カウンターから東京はあっさり先制点を奪った。2分、右サイドで前田から石川につなぎ、ハーフウェーライン付近から左サイドへロングフィードをすると走り込んでいた戸田がダイレクトで思い切ってシュート、低い弾道がゴール右に突き刺さる。ちなみにアウェーでの通算100得点目であった。　その後も東京ペースで進み、6分、宮沢→今野とつなぎシュートするも相手DFがブロック、10分、中央でルーカスのポストプレーから栗澤がシュートするもGK正面に、12分には約25m付近のFKを宮沢が直接ゴールを狙うも相手GK松代にナイスセーブで防がれたが、ここまでは全く危なげない展開で試合は進んだ。

　しかし15分を過ぎるといっきにG大阪ぺースとなる。特に中盤でボールを支配され、動きだしの速さで、FW大黒が何度もDFラインの裏でボールをもらえるようになり、チャンスを作っていく。22分、大黒が左サイドから中央へドリブルし、そのままシュート、24分にはDF山口からのロングフィードで大黒が前線に抜け出しシュートと、立て続けに決定的なチャンスを与えるも、土肥がスーパーセーブでこれを防いだ。さらに31分には右サイドでMF遠藤→FWフェルナンジーニョとつなぎ、クロスを中央にいた大黒に合わせるもゴールの上に外す。

　東京もカウンターからチャンスをうかがう。38分、自陣で相手CKからボールを奪うと、いっきに宮沢が前線に残っていた石川にロングフィード、ドリブルでペナルティエリア内に進入するもシュートは打てず、40分には左サイドで金沢→戸田が抜けだしセンターリング、中央にいた石川がシュートするも、相手DFに阻まれる。なかなかチャンスらしいチャンスを作ることができず、苦しい状況は続く。その後もG大阪が攻める。43分には右CKからDF宮本がヘディングシュートを放つもポストにあたり土肥がキャッチ、44分は大黒が中央でエリア外からシュートするも土肥の正面と最後のところでDF陣が踏ん張り1-0で前半を終了する。

Season First Goal For Toda Opens The Scoring

Gamba started the game in their usual 3-5-2 formation with Miyamoto in defence and Sidiclei as defensive midfielder. The home side began in aggressive fashion but it was TOKYO who took the lead with a swift counter attack. In the 2nd. minute Maeda fed Ishikawa on the right and from near the halfway line Ishikawa swept a long ball out to the left. Toda outpaced a defender and cracked a low first time shot inside the far post for his first goal of the season and TOKYO's 100th. away goal. TOKYO continued to dominate after the goal: the home defence blocked Konno's shot in the 6th. minute, Kurisawa fired straight at the keeper in the 10th. minute following good work from Lucas and Miyazawa drew a fine save from Matsuyo with a well struck free kick in the 12th. minute. 
From around the 15 minute mark the balance slowly shifted back to Gamba as the midfield imposed itself and Oguro threatened with darting runs through the TOKYO defence. In the 22nd. minute Oguro dribbled inside from the left and shot; in the 24th. minute he latched onto a long ball from Yamaguchi and only a breathtaking save from Doi prevented the home side from tying the score. In the 31st. minute he headed a cross from Fernandinho over the bar. 
TOKYO threatened on the counter attack with a couple of half chances falling to Ishikawa as half time approached. Miyamoto hit the post with a header from a corner in the 43rd. minute and Oguro fired a shot straight at Doi on the stroke of half time. The TOKYO defence held firm and the first period ended 1-0. 

後半に入って守備が崩壊、5失点で逆転負け

　ハーフタイムに原監督から「引きすぎないで怖がらずに前からいこう」と指示を出して選手を送り出したが、後半開始してすぐに、G大阪MF橋本のシュートを土肥がセーブし、こぼれ球を戸田がクリアするが、このボールが増嶋にあたりそのままゴールイン、オウンゴールという不運な形で失点を許し、同点に追いつかれる。その後、前半とはうってかわって両チーム点の取り合いとなる。

　まずは51分、東京は左サイドのFKを宮沢がゴール前に上げると、石川がドンピシャのヘディングシュート、2点目を奪う。しかし52分、53分と立て続けに大黒にゴールを奪われ、一瞬にして逆転を許してしまう。東京は56分に宮沢に代えて馬場を入れると、中盤でボールが収まるようになり、両サイドを使ってリズム良く攻撃ができるようになる。60分には疲れの見えた戸田に代え鈴木規を投入、いっきに攻撃のスピードが加速した。すると、64分、右サイドで石川がボールをキープ、相手DFを抜き去る前にニヤサイドにクロスを入れると、走り込んできたルーカスがヘディングシュート、ゴール左隅に吸い込まれ3-3の同点に追いつく。

　しかし喜びも束の間、またも1分後に大黒にハットトリックとなるゴールを決められ、突き放される。3点とも、ゴール前には東京DF陣の数は揃っているが、大黒の一瞬の動き出しの速さについていけず、すべてフリーでシュートを打たれてしまい、これまで6試合で4失点であった堅守がもろくも崩れてしまった。72分にはジャーンの前田へのパスミスをG大阪MFアラウージョがインターセプト、そのままドリブルで持ち込みシュートすると、ゴールに吸い込まれ、2点差に引き離されてしまう。

　東京は73分に増嶋に代えて近藤祐を投入、今野をDFに下げて最後まで点を取りにいく。75、76分と近藤祐が、77分には石川が、そして88分にはルーカスがそれぞれシュートを放つが得点を奪うことができず試合終了。久々の3得点と攻撃に関しては良かったが、それ以上にG大阪の大黒を最後まで止めることができず、今後に課題を残す試合となった。

　【選手コメント】《前田》「試合に入った直後、対面する二川選手にボールがわたった時に滑ってしまったのだが、結果的にスライディングでボールを奪う形になった。それで簡単にはやられないぞと気が引き締まった。前節にくらべ、ナオさんとの攻守の連係は取れていたと思う。点を取った後にもっと集中するべきだった。そこでやられたことで、この結果になってしまった…」《今野》「完敗です。東京の最終ラインが悪いわけではなく、ガンバのほうが動きがよく、動き出しが早かった。それでうまく回された。それが敗因だと思う。みんなでもっともっとプレッシャーをかけにいきたかったが、後手後手になってしまった。修正してがんばりたい」《馬場》「久々にピッチに戻れて、自分ではのびのびできたと思う。出場直後から8割以上の力を出そうと考えていて、試合にはすんなり入ることができた。リズムはつくれたと思う。ゴール前を固められて、自分自身は枠に飛ぶシュートを打てなかったが、サイドは崩していた。点を取ったあとにすぐ取られてしまったこと、3連敗したことが残念。次は勝ちたい」

　【原監督の会見要旨】「この2試合、点が取れず、また最終ラインに故障者が多く、微妙にバランスが崩れていた。その中でチーム全体で守備をして点を取っていこうとした。立ち上がり、ずっとゴールのなかった戸田がすばらしい形で点を取り、いい感じだった。ただその後、少しずつガンバにボールを持たれて、特にFW大黒の動き出しの速さを感じた。そこで増嶋あたりが、大黒の動きについていけなくなってしまった。結果的に増嶋はヘッドでは競り合えるが、それ以外の大黒の動き＝クロスに対して逃げていったりや、足元に来た時に一旦引くなど、そういう動きを最初に何回かされてしまい、明らかに怖がってしまった。前半からかなり危ないシーンもあったが、なんとか守っていたので、ハーフタイムには「怖がらないでしっかり潰せ、しっかり付け」という話をしたが、オウンゴールでまたバタバタしてしまった。セットプレーからいいゴールが取れて、リードした後に、また大黒にやられてしまった。点を取ったあとの時間帯が悪かった。しかし試合の駆け引きというよりも、増嶋が怖がってずるずる引いてしまうものだから、ジャーンもつられて、結局大黒の一番得意のスペースで勝負されたことが敗因。ガンバの一番得意な形を、最終ラインが怖がってしまった。我々もすばらしいゴールを取れたと思う。セットプレーを含め、3点とも狙いどおりのゴール。それ以上に失点が多かった。茂庭もそろそろ復帰できそうな状況だが、最終ラインをもう少し安定させることが必要。増嶋はまだまだ若い。これから本当の一人前のディフェンダーになるために、もっともっと怖がらないで闘っていってほしいと思う。今後に取り組む姿勢にすべてがかかってるが、これからだろう。途中出場の馬場もコンディションが戻ってきているし、鈴木規、石川も好調なので、しっかり整備して次の試合に臨みたい。我々らしい攻撃ができつつあるので、点を取りながら、失点を減らしていけるチームにしていきたい」

　【G大阪・西野監督の会見要旨】「今日は、全員で決着をつけたいという気持ちで臨んだゲームだったので、キックオフからそういう姿勢で入れていた。前半はアンラッキーで、攻めながらも点がとれないという拮抗した試合だったが、内容は悪くはなかった。ハーフタイムにも、後半1点取れれば必ず3点取れるゲームだと話した。オウンゴールがそれに火をつけてくれたが、1点取れればこういうゲームになることは予測していた。特に後半からは、常に前に出て行くアグレッシブなゲームが全員で出来ていた。大黒の好調もあり、全員で相手ゴールに向かう姿勢が非常に強かった。ディフェンスの面では、1失点目はエアーポケットに入ったようなもので、FKを含めての対応に連携が取れていなかった。きれいに3点を失っているので、もう少しバランスを取ることが必要。今後に向けて修正することもたくさんある。しかし内容よりも何より勝点3をとりたいゲームだったので、そういう意味では非常によかった。修正して、これからもっとガンバらしい攻撃的な面が出ればと思う」

Defensive Collapse Dooms TOKYO 

At half time TOKYO manager Hara's instructions were, "Don't play too deeply and don't be afraid. Play from the front." In the first minute of the second half Gamba midfielder Hashimoto fired in a shot that Doi parried away; Toda's attempted clearance struck Masushima and looped into the goal to tie the score. The goal triggered a remarkable scoring sequence. 
In the 51st. minute Miyazawa curled a free kick in from the left and Ishikawa met the ball to perfection, sending an unstoppable header past Matsuyo to regain the lead for TOKYO. However, a burst of two goals in two minutes from Oguro gave Gamba a 3-2 lead. TOKYO then sent on Baba for Miyazawa with a brief to control the ball in midfield and bring the wings into play. In the 60th. minute Suzuki replaced the tiring Toda to lend some impetus to the attack. The changes reaped a reward in the 64th. minute when Lucas met Ishikawa's cross at the near post to glance a header past Matsuyo and tie the score at 3-3. 
TOKYO'S joy lasted only a minute as Oguro struck again to notch his hat trick and give his side the lead. The TOKYO backline was present in numbers but was unable to deal with Oguro's speed or movement and the defence that had conceded only 4 goals in 6 games had allowed another 4 in only 19 minutes. In the 72nd. minute Araujo intercepted a pass from Jean to Maeda, raced forward and floated a shot past Doi to extend the lead to two. 
TOKYO replaced Masushima with Yusuke Kondo in the 73rd. minute, pulling Konno back into defence and going forward in numbers. Chances fell to Kondo in the 75th. and 76th. minutes, Ishikawa in the 77th. and Lucas in the 88th. but a further goal was unforthcoming and the final whistle blew on a 3-5 loss. The return to scoring of the attack was encouraging but the inability to deal with Oguro was what the match would be remembered for. 


Players' comments 
Maeda: 
" Early in the game I had a match up with Futagawa, slipped and lost the ball. Losing the ball so easily made me tighten up a little. I thought I combined with Ishikawa better than in the last game. We should have concentrated better after scoring; we didn't though and that led to today's result". 

Konno: 
" A complete defeat. It wasn't that our defence was poor, Gamba's front line was very quick. Their movement was very good and that's why we lost today. We wanted to pressure them more but we lost the initiative. We want to put that right in the next game". 

Baba: 
" I was pleased to get back on the pitch after such a long time and thought I'd be able to play at about 80% but I fitted in well and could find some rhythm, I felt. I froze up a little in front of goal and couldn't manage a shot but I was able to create some chances down the wings. It was disappointing to concede so soon after scoring and we want to win the next game". 


F.C.TOKYO manager Hara: 
" In the last two games we had failed to score, had a lot of injuries in defence and lost some of our balance at the back. We decided to defend in depth and try to grab a goal. Toda hasn't been on the score sheet at all but got a great goal early on and we were looking good. But after that we allowed Gamba too much possession and Oguro threatened with his speed and movement. Masushima did well in the air but when the ball was played in to Oguro's feet he stood off him and was clearly worried about his pace. There were a few dicey moments but we finished the first half ahead. At half time I told him to stick close to Oguro and not to be afraid but we conceded the own goal and started flapping. We took the lead from a fine set play but Oguro scored soon after. The few minutes after we scored were very bad. Masushima lost his nerve and played too deeply and that pulled Jean out of position allowing Oguro the space he thrives in. We scored some good goals though; unfortunately we conceded more. Moniwa will be returning soon and that should provide more stability at the back. Masushima is still young but has to learn to play without fear if he wants to become a complete player. Baba is returning to match fitness, Suzuki and Ishikawa are in good form at the moment so we'll be making a few adjustments for the next game. We're making progress with our style of attacking football but have to reduce the number of goals we're conceding". 

Gamba manager Nishino: 
" We wanted a real team performance today and we made a positive start but were unlucky in the first half. We were competitive but just couldn't score. At half time I told the players that if we could get one we could get three, it was that sort of game. The own goal provided the spark and the game developed as we had foreseen. Oguro is in good form but the whole team was so positive in going forward. For the goals we conceded the first one seemed to strike an air pocket, our communication was poor at the free kick and the third exposed our need for better balance. We have many things to work on. But more than anything we wanted the win and the three points today so we're very happy. We'll work hard and see more of our style of attacking football from now, I believe".
