東京らしいサッカーでリーグ最終戦勝利を！

　J1リーグ第34節はアウェーでセレッソ大阪との対戦。ついにリーグ最終戦を迎える。前節の川崎戦は先制点を許すものの終盤にササの同点弾で完全にペースを握り、怒涛の攻撃で川崎ゴールに攻め込むも、勝ち越しゴールを奪うことはできずドローで終了したものの、リーグ戦11戦負け無しと完全に一時の不調から脱し、勢いを取り戻したと言える。リーグ終盤戦でG大阪、鹿島、千葉と上位チームに対して互角以上の戦いで相手を苦しめてきただけに、C大阪戦も自信を持って挑み、勝利で終えたいところだ。

　C大阪は前節の結果、勝ち点58で首位に立った。勝てば優勝の大一番、この試合に掛ける意気込みは今さら言うまでもない。攻撃ではキープ力の高い好調のFW西澤を中心に、動きの鋭いFW森島、MF古橋、またボランチから飛び出してくるMFファビーニョには十分な注意が必要。原監督も「そこは絶対に抑えなければいけない」と警戒を強めている。東京はいつもどおりの前からの守備で、アグレッシブに奪いにいくことが必要。一方DF陣の要であるブルーノ クアドロスが出場停止となり代わりにDF柳本が3バックの中心を務める。巧みなカバーで安定したディフェンスラインを形成してくるが、阿部吉、戸田、鈴木規らのスピードを活かして徹底的に裏を狙えば、チャンスは必ずつくれるはずだ。

　対する東京は、ルーカス、馬場が怪我で離脱、加地、ササは警告累積で出場停止。代わりに右サイドバックには藤山、トップには阿部吉、右MFには戸田が入る布陣。原監督も「チームの守備の安定は、前からのプレスのおかげ。阿部吉、戸田、鈴木規はガンガン走れるし、『取りにいけ』と言えばどこまでも追いかけられる。元気な彼らをうまく使っていきたい」と話す。また「相手の順位や優勝争いは関係ない。ここ15試合無敗のC大阪と、11戦無敗の東京。どっちに勢いがあり、どっちが強いか。目の前の一戦に勝つことだけが目標」。

　優勝の可能性はまだ5チームに残されているが、この試合がもっとも注目を集めるゲームになることは間違いない。選手も「目の前での優勝は絶対させない」と燃えに燃えている。原監督も「気持ちと魂をこめて、みんなに『やっぱりFC東京がいいね』と言ってもらえるような試合をしたい」と意気込んでいる。走って走って、どんどんボールを取りにいって…ワクワクする東京らしいサッカーで勝つ！時折吹く風は冷たいものの、比較的暖かい長居スタジアム、2:04pmに東京のキックオフで開始された。

TOKYO Aim To Sign Off In Style 

The final league game of the season saw TOKYO travel south to take on Cerezo Osaka. Despite conceding an early goal to Kawasaki Frontale in the previous game TOKYO dominated and, following Sasa's equaliser, attacked with abandon but failed to find the winning goal. The team had shaken off the mid-season slump, returned to form and was unbeaten in 11 games. Excellent performances against several of the top sides in recent weeks had boosted confidence and the team aimed to finish the season on a high by claiming one last win. 
Cerezo were top of the league with 58 points; a win would see them crowned champions. Their attack was based around strikers Nishizawa and Morishima, with midfielder Furuhashi and defensive midfielder Fabinho also requiring attention from the TOKYO defence. "We have to control them at all costs," warned TOKYO manager Hara. Defender Bruno Quadros missed the game through suspension with Yanagimoto taking his position in a three man backline. The speed of Toda, Abe and Suzuki would be the visitors' principal weapon if they were to find space behind Cerezo's stable defence. 
TOKYO were without the injured Baba and Lucas, while Sasa and Kaji were suspended. Fujiyama appeared at right back, Abe started as lone striker and Toda began in the left wing position. Manager Hara commented, "Our defensive stability comes from the forward players pressing hard from the front. Abe, Suzuki and Toda will run hard and chase all afternoon; we want to use them wisely. Our opponent's title aspirations and league place don't mean anything; they haven't lost for 15 games and we haven't lost for 11. It's just about which team is stronger and has the greater will to win over the 90 minutes". 
Five sides remained in contention for the title with this fixture being the main focus of attention. The TOKYO players were determined not to allow Cerezo to celebrate victory in front of them. "Go out and play with heart and spirit. Play so that everybody watching thinks,'Oh yes, TOKYO are a good team'," exhorted manager Hara. The teams lined up in a relatively warm Nagai Stadium and TOKYO kicked off shortly after 2pm.

先制を許すも鈴木規のゴールで追いつく

　予想した通りC大阪が攻撃的にきた。1分にFW古橋のキープから、MF久藤にエリア内まで攻め込まれ右CKに。何とか守り切るも、3分には右サイドからFW古橋のスローインをMF久藤につながれクロスをあげられると、中央のFW西澤にどんぴしゃのヘッドで合わせられ失点。早くもC大阪に先制を許すこととなる。

　東京としては、いきなり出鼻をくじかれる格好となったが慌てることなく、自分たちのペースで試合を進める。10分に梶山がドリブルで攻め上がりミドルシュート、13分には右CKから1度は相手がクリアするものの、立て続けに右エリア外からのFKを得る。26～7mの位置から鈴木規が直接狙うが、左にきれる。16分には藤山のアーリークロスを相手DFがクリア。こぼれを拾った金沢が今度は左クロス。そのクリアに詰めた今野が、ゴール正面からシュートするもGK正面に。徐々に主導権を握り始めると、カウンターから同点弾が生まれた。

　20分、茂庭のクリアから、ハーフライン付近で相手に競り勝った梶山がドリブルでゴール前に疾走。左エリアに上がった鈴木規にラストパスをとおすと、これを鈴木規がきっちり決めて同点に！その後も24分には速攻から右サイドの阿部吉がドリブルでエリア内に持ち込みシュート、バーぎりぎりで相手GKの好セーブに阻まれる。しかし30分を過ぎると、今度は息を吹き返したようにC大阪が猛反撃を仕掛けてくる。

　31分に左FKからこぼれ球をMFゼ カルロスがエリア手前から強烈なシュート。しっかり枠内に飛んでいたが、茂庭がカット。35分にはC大阪に速攻を仕掛けられ、FW古橋がエリア内に侵入。ボールを奪った鈴木規がファールの判定を受けPKに。絶体絶命のピンチであったがMFゼ カルロスのシュートを何と土肥が右手を伸ばしゴール下隅でセーブ。41分にはFW古橋の右クロスをファーでFW西澤がヘッドで落とし、ゴール前に詰めたFW森島がフリーで至近距離からシュートするも、土肥ががっちりキャッチ。その後もC大阪に攻め込まれピンチは続くも、全員で守りきり1-1のまま前半を終了した。

Suzuki Ties Early Cerezo Strike 

As expected Cerezo attacked TOKYO hard from the kick off. In the very first minute Furuhashi held the ball up, then slipped it to Nunobe who burst into the TOKYO penalty area on the right. Somehow the TOKYO defence cleared the danger for a corner. In the 3rd. minute Furuhashi found Nunobe with a quickly taken throw in down the right wing; Nunobe raced to the byline and delivered a pin point cross that Nishizawa adroitly headed down and past Doi to open the scoring for the home side. 
TOKYO maintained their poise and steadily set about searching for an equaliser. In the 10th. minute Kajiyama dribbled forward and shot while in the 13th. minute pressure earned a corner kick and then a free kick some 27 metres from goal. Suzuki stepped up but fired his effort wide. In the 16th. minute the Cerezo defence cleared Fujiyama's early cross out to Kanazawa on the left; Kanazawa crossed again and the ball reached Konno in a good position. Konno shot straight at Yoshida in the Cerezo goal. The balance of play was slowly shifting to TOKYO and a rapid counter attack in the 20th. minute brought the equaliser. 
Moniwa cleared the ball out to the halfway line where Kajiyama disposed a Cerezo player and set off for goal at full speed. As he reached the edge of the Cerezo penalty area he slipped the ball to Suzuki who had raced forward in support on the left; Suzuki buried a low drive into the back of the net and the game was all square. In the 24th. minute Abe hit the bar with a powerful strike from a tight angle following a mesmerizing run into the heart of the home defence. Cerezo reasserted themselves and began to threaten from around the half hour mark. 
In the 31st. minute Ze Carlos latched onto a loose ball following a free kick and lashed a low drive goalward that Moniwa cleared with an outstretched leg. In the 35th. minute Cerezo countered at pace with Furuhashi taking the ball into the TOKYO area on the left. He collapsed under Suzuki's challenge and the referee pointed to the spot. Midfielder Ze Carlos took his time with the free kick but Doi guessed correctly, diving to his right to palm the ball away. In the 41st. minute Furuhashi crossed from the right, Nishizawa headed the back into the middle and the unmarked Morishima seemed certain to score from point blank range but Doi cleanly held his header. Cerezo launched waves of attacks at the TOKYO goal but the visitors' defence refused to buckle and the first period finished 1-1. 

今野の執念のゴールが決まり、ドローでリーグ戦終了

　ハーフタイムに原監督から「相手は後半立ち上がりから来るから気をつけるように」と指示があったにもかかわらず、あっさりと勝ち越しを許す。47分、MFゼ カルロスのパスからゴール前でFW西澤→森島がシュート、東京DFが阻止するも、48分にMFゼ カルロスのシュートのクリアを右エリア内でFW西澤に拾われ強烈なシュートを決められる。

　反撃に出たい東京であったが、なかなか攻撃の組み立てができない。すると54分に栗澤に代えて宮沢を投入。宮沢を起点に相手DFの裏のスペースにFWを走らせ、そのこぼれ球を拾っていく戦い方に変えると、徐々にボールを支配し反撃を仕掛ける。56分、多少遠目からのFKを、思い切って宮沢が狙うがバーの上に。58分には梶山が中盤で粘り、鈴木規→戸田がダイレクトでつなぎ、エリア右に上がった阿部吉がフリーでシュートするも今度もバーの上。62分に宮沢の右FKからファーでジャーンがヘディングシュート。しかしわずかにゴール左に外れる。C大阪も65分に速攻から中央でFW西澤が振り向きざまにシュートを放つがゴール右に。

　完全に攻める東京、守る→カウンターのC大阪の展開に。69分には梶山に代えて近藤祐を投入。2トップにして攻撃の枚数を増やし、点を奪いにいく。73分の左CKのこぼれを藤山がシュート、再びこぼれを拾ってゴール前になだれこむが、どうしてもゴールは割れず。

　75分にはゴール正面の絶好の位置でのFKのチャンスを掴むも、宮沢のシュートは相手の壁に阻まれる。78分、宮沢の左FKにゴール前の混戦からジャーンが詰め、相手GKの飛び出したゴールにボールが飛ぶがDFがクリア。83分には金沢→今野とつなぎ最後は宮沢がよく抑えたミドルを放つも相手GKがセーブ。あと一歩のところでゴールを割れず、このまま終了かと思われた89分、ついにゴールが生まれる。

　藤山のドリブル突破から得た右CKを宮沢がゴールから遠いところにライナー性のボールを入れると、猛然と走り込んできた近藤祐が強烈なボレーシュート、相手DFに阻まれるが、これに詰めた今野が落ち着いて胸トラップして左足でシュート！チーム全員の気持ちが乗りうつった執念のゴールで同点に追いついた。その後、3分間のロスタイムも両チーム得点のないままタイムアップ。12戦無敗でリーグ戦を終了した。

　【選手コメント】《今野》「首位のセレッソには勢いもあったし、3トップも強力だった。だけど自分たちにも力があることを見せたかった。いい試合になったと思う。ゴールの場面は、絶対決めたいと思っていた。相手はものすごく集中していたけど、イメージどおり胸トラップもうまくできて、決められた。相手はガッカリしているだろうが、僕も、あのまま負けたら立ち直れないぐらいガッカリしたと思う。目の前で優勝されたら、一生心に悔いが残ると思っていた。ただ、結局12戦連続で負けなかったけど、今日も引き分け。これを勝ちにもっていけないところが、シーズンをとおして悔やまれる反省点。もっともっと質の高い安定したプレーで、レベルの高いサッカーをめざしたい」《鈴木規》「早い時間に先制して、相手はきっと守りにはいると思った。だから逆にスピードを活かして攻めていこうと切り替えた。シュートは、普段から『ニアに力いっぱい蹴るだけではダメ』と言われていたし、逆サイドに阿部ちゃんも見えたので、ファーを狙った。落ち着いて蹴れたと思う。正直に言えば勝ちたかったが。PKを取られた場面に自分の弱さが出ていると思う。動揺していた。これを一つの経験として、メンタル面でも成長していきたい」

　【原監督の会見要旨】「セレッソは非常にいいチームで、15試合を無敗できている。優勝がかかっているということで、お客さまも多く入ると聞いていた。我々も勝ちか引き分けできているので、こういう大舞台でも怖がらずに、ルーカスやササがいなくても、我々の良さを思い切って出して、堂々と戦おうと試合に入った。セレッソは『引き分けでは優勝は難しいと考えている』と思っていたので、立ち上がりからかなり来ると選手には言っていたが、2失点ともに前後半の立ち上がりだった。足元につなごうとしたところを奪われて、カウンターという形でやられてしまった。セレッソは1点取るとむしろ大事にいこうという気持ちが強くなるので、早い時間帯であったことから、我々は怖がらずに攻めていこうとハーフタイムで話した。最後は負けていたので前線の人数を増やし、宮沢のロングボールで展開、こぼれ球を今野が拾うという形、あるいはリスタートからチャンスができると思い宮沢を入れた。梶山や栗澤が悪かったわけではなく、そういう狙いで交代させた。実際に選手たちは、最後の最後まで戦ってくれて良かったと思う。ホームでのセレッソ戦は、2対0とリードしていた状況から、PKとFKで追いつかれ、今日と全く逆の結果だったが、試合をしてみて、セレッソは本当に攻守の切り替えの速い良いチームだと思う。ガンバが優勝したと聞いたが、今シーズンはどこが勝ってもおかしくない状況であった。しかし客観的に見れば、ガンバが本当はもっと早く優勝していなければならなかったと思う。西野さんからはなにかプレゼントをもらおうと思っている」

　【C大阪・小林監督の会見要旨】「本当に立ち上がりの良いタイミングで点が取れたが、その後の20分、不安定に進んでしまった。点が取れているのだから、もう少し落ち着いてパスを回したり、守備のバランスが取れれば良かった。また、相手がかかってくるところで、冷静になれなかったのだと思うが、パニックになってしまった。左サイドの鈴木規が残るので、DF藤本をボールサイドに置いてボランチを１枚落とし、ワントップを意識させ、後半うまくいったが、どうしても守備が不安定だった。相手の直線的な攻撃に合わせてしまい、こちらも単発な攻撃になってしまった。1人飛ばしてのパスを奪われたりするなど、イージーな取られ方をして、リズムに乗れずカウンターを食らってしまった。そういうテンポをつくれない中でも、うまい形で点を取れたことは大きい。チームとして少しずつレベルが上がり、ここまで来た中で、今日のような経験は次につながる良い経験。最後の5分、10分にしっかり守れる、しっかりキープできる…など、もう少し追求していく必要がある。残り5分の勝負の厳しさを、私をはじめスタッフも教えられたので、来季に向けてもう一つがんばっていきたい」

Late Konno Strike Ties It For Tenacious TOKYO 

Although manager Hara warned his team that Cerezo would continue their all-out attack as the second period began TOKYO conceded early in the half yet again. After Ze Carlos and Nishizawa neatly set up Morishima for a shot that the TOKYO defence somehow blocked in the 47th. minute, Nishizawa gave his side the lead a minute later, rifling home after a deflected shot landed at his feet. 
TOKYO were struggling in attack and Miyazawa replaced Kurisawa in the 54th. minute. Miyazawa began to dictate play, probing the space behind the Cerezo defence with accurate balls for his forwards to chase as TOKYO slowly increased the amount of time in possession of the ball. Miyazawa fired a long range free kick over the bar in the 56th. minute and Abe fired high from inside the area after Kajiyama battled hard to gain control of the ball in the 58th. minute. Jean headed Miyazawa's deep free kick against the outside of the post in the 62nd. minute. Cerezo came close to extending their lead in the 65th. minute as Nishizawa fired narrowly wide following a counter attack. 
The pattern of the game developed into TOKYO pressing for the equaliser while Cerezo sat back, content to defend their lead while looking to hit on the counter attack. Striker Kondo replaced Kajiyama in the 69th. minute as TOKYO switched to a two forward formation. In the 73rd. minute Fujiyama pounced onto a loose ball following a corner but saw his shot blocked; picking up the rebound he raced into the area but found no way through. 
TOKYO earned a free kick in prime position, just outside the Cerezo area, in the 75th. minute but Miyazawa struck his effort into the defensive wall. Jean came within a few inches of tying the game in the 78th. minute as he poked a loose ball towards the undefended goal after Yoshida found himself stranded following a wild charge at a Miyazawa free kick and a goal mouth scramble. The ball bobbled towards the line until a defender slid in to hack it clear. In the 83rd. minute Yoshida cleanly held a curling, dipping strike from Miyazawa. Cerezo were hanging on for grim death; just as they seemed to have survived TOKYO's onslaught and the final seconds of regulation time ticked away, the goal that had threatened for so long finally arrived. 
Fujiyama pushed forward, winning a corner on the right. Kondo met Miyazawa's low ball with a thunderous volley that smacked into a defender and flew up in the air; Konno took the ball on his chest and neatly dispatched a volley through a ruck of players and into the corner of the net. The tenacious spirit shown by the team had earned a deserved equaliser. The three minutes of injury time failed to produce a decisive goal and the match ended 2-2. TOKYO had stretched their unbeaten run to 12 games.

Konno 
"Cerezo were the league leaders and played with three forwards but we showed how strong we are as well today. It was a good game, I thought. When the chance came at the end I was determined to score. Our opponents were very focused but I just visualised trapping the ball on my chest and shooting; it went in exactly as I saw it. They were thunderstruck and I think I would have been too, if I were in their position. Losing when you are so near to winning the title must be something you regret for the rest of your life. But anyway, the match was a draw and we haven't lost for 12 games now. We have to aim to play better football at a higher level". 

Suzuki 
"After they scored early we expected them to defend so we knew we had to use our pace to get back into the game. I usually go for the near post when I shoot but I saw Abe at the far post, tried to keep calm and hit it. To be honest, I wanted to win today. I showed my weakness in giving the penalty away; I just got over excited. It's another experience I can learn from to make the mental side of my game stronger". 


TOKYO manager Hara 
"Cerezo are a very good team and hadn't lost for 15 games. This was a big game today; the outcome of the title depended on it, there was a huge crowd and even though we were without Lucas and Sasa we played bravely and performed well on such a big stage. We knew that Cerezo would have to win the game to take the title so we expected them to hit us hard and indeed we conceded an early goal in each half. We tried to play the ball in towards our players' feet but lost possession and that allowed them to counter attack. We sent on Miyazawa for his ability to play the long ball; the idea was for Konno to win the loose balls or gain an advantage from quick restarts. Kajiyama and Kurisawa weren't playing badly at all, we just wanted to change our style of play. I'm very pleased with the way the players fought to the very end. In the reverse fixture we took a two goal lead but they equalised with a late penalty and a free kick; today was the exact opposite. They're a good team though and switch from defence to attack very quickly. Any one of five teams could have won the title this year. Gamba won but they really should have sown it up much earlier. I think Mr.Nishino ( the Gamba manager ) owes us a present". 

Cerezo manager Kobayashi 
"We got an early goal but then struggled for about 20 minutes after that. We should have kept our heads and played the ball around but panicked after they scored. The second half was better as we had moved Fujimoto out from defensive midfield but the defence was very nervous. We were forced to adapt to our opponents' long ball game and our attack became one-dimensional. They picked off our through balls easily and that allowed them to counter attack. We couldn't find our rhythm but we have to be able to create scoring chances even when we aren't playing fluently. The team has come a long way though; today will be a great learning experience. We learned the hard way how important it is to defend solidly and keep the ball in the last few minutes. We'll be aiming to do our best next year".
