2011シーズン開幕、J2を勝ち抜く戦いがスタート！

　2011シーズンが開幕、J2第1節は3月5日(土)サガン鳥栖と対戦。1年でのJ1復帰を最大の目標とした熱き戦いがスタートした。

　シーズンインに先駆け、約40日にわたる準備期間では、チームとしての共通認識を高め、新加入選手とのフィットにも重点を置いてきた。だがその間に梶山、権田、ペドロ ジュニオールらが負傷するアクシデントも。また、ロベルト セザー、ホベルトは、それぞれコンディション面と故障も抱え、ベンチスタートに。同時に米本が開幕戦は出場停止となり、チーム状態は決して万全とはいえないだろう。一方で別メニューが続いていた中村、石川が復帰。一丸となってこの開幕戦に臨むことになる。

　対する鳥栖は、昨季のJ2において9位(13勝12分11敗・総得点42・総失点41)。長身のFW豊田を最前線におき、前線のプレスから仕掛けるショートカウンターや、豊田を起点にした勢いのある攻撃が特徴だ。今季から指揮を執る尹晶煥監督は、09年よりコーチを務め、チームを熟成。ていねいなビルドアップからの攻撃も身に付けつつある。

　それに対して「どういう状況にあっても臨機応変に対応すること(大熊監督)」はテーマの一つ。なによりシーズンを戦い抜くためにも、はずみをつけ、ホームで勝利を得ることが重要な開幕戦。全員が強い気持ちでゴールに向かい、相手に脅威を与えるサッカーで勝ち点3の奪取をめざす。東京はGK塩田、両サイドバックに徳永と阿部。ボランチを高橋と羽生が組み、中盤サイドに中村と谷澤、鈴木と平山の2トップの布陣。

　風は冷たいものの穏やかに晴れ、試合前には「東京スカパラダイスオーケストラ」によるスペシャルLIVEが開催、21408名が集った味スタ。試合は14時5分、東京のキックオフでスタートした。

Escape From J2 The Target As 2011 Season Begins 
The 2011 J.League Division 2 season began with the visit of Sagan Tosu to Ajinomoto Stadium. Tokyo, aiming for an immediate return to J1, had spent the 40 days of the close season integrating the new and returning players into the squad. Injuries to Kajiyama, Gonda and Pedro Junior kept those three out of the side but Roberto Cesar and Roberto were fit enough to start on the bench. Yonemoto was suspended while Nakamura and Ishikawa, who had both been on separate training programs from the rest of the squad, were considered recovered enough to start and take a place among the substitutes respectively. 
Opponents Tosu had finished 9th. overall in J2 in 2010 with a record of W13 D12 L11, scoring 42 and conceding 41. The side was noted for its patient approach play and applying pressure from the front with lanky striker Toyoda the key man in a dynamic front line. Newly-appointed manager Jong Hwan Yoon had been a coach at the club for two years and overseen the development of the side. 
Tokyo manager Kiyoshi Okuma felt that his players' ability to respond correctly to the requirements of the moment would be an important part of the match. Above all other considerations though, was the desire for Tokyo to begin the marathon campaign with a home win. The home side lined up with Shiota in goal, Tokunaga and Abe at fullback, Takahashi and Hanyu in central midfield, Nakamura and Yazawa on the flanks and Suzuki and Hirayama in attack. 
Special guests Tokyo Skaparadise Orchestra whipped up the crowd with some scintillating ska before Tokyo got the ball rolling shortly after 2pm on a chilly but sunny afternoon. 

手堅い試合運びをみせるもスコアレスで前半を終える

　ともに慎重な立ち上がり。手堅く試合に入り、序盤は膠着した状況が続いた。それでも東京は徐々にボールを動かして主導権を握ろうとし、18分に左CKのクリアから、中村が両チーム合わせて初のシュートを放つ。20分には素早いパス回しから、右サイドの中村→中央の羽生がエリアに持ち込み、シュートを放った。

　だがその後はミスもあり、パスが回らず、決定的といえるチャンスはなかなか生み出せなかった。反対に鳥栖に切り替えの早い攻撃を仕掛けられ、32分には鳥栖ボランチの藤田→左MF柳澤→FW豊田がエリア手前からシュート。これがバーをヒットして跳ね返り、ピンチを迎えたが、塩田が身を呈して守り切る。

　41分には鳥栖が東京陣内でのFKから短くパスを出し、MF國吉が鋭いミドル。ボールは枠に飛ぶが、塩田がセーブしCKに。この右CKから、FW豊田に打点の高いヘッドを放たれたが、わずかにバーを越える。鳥栖のミスにも助けられると、ロスタイムには東京が攻めの形をつくり、右クロスからのこぼれを羽生がつなぎ、高橋がスピードに乗ってシュートを放ったが、GKの正面を突き、スコアレスで終了した。

Tight First Half Ends Scoreless 
Caution was the watchword for both sides as the game began slowly and developed into a midfield stalemate. Tokyo gradually asserted themselves and started to move the ball around but it wasn't until the 18th.minute that Nakamura struck the first attempt on goal, a 20-yard drive from a cleared corner that was still rising as it sailed over the Tosu crossbar. Tokyo produced some neat passing in the 20th.minute that allowed Nakamura to jink down the right and cut the ball back to Hanyu who burst into the Tosu penalty area and shot into the side netting. Following that burst of activity mistakes predominated and neither side could find a rhythm. 
The visitors showed their prowess on the counter attack in the 32nd.minute as midfielders Fujita and Yanagisawa combined to create a shooting opportunity for Toyoda from the edge of the Tokyo penalty area. Toyoda's shot beat Shiota but cannoned down off the bar and the Tokyo keeper showed sharp reflexes to pounce on the loose ball ahead of the onrushing Tosu players. 
In the 41st.minute Tokyo conceded a free kick some 30 yards from goal in a central position; the ball was nudged to midfielder Kuniyoshi who unleashed a ferocious dipping drive that Shiota palmed around the post at full stretch. Toyoda beat the Tokyo defence to the resulting corner but directed a firm header narrowly over the bar. Having escaped conceding at the worst possible time Tokyo then had an opportunity to snatch the lead in additional time as Hanyu moved a cross from the right into Takahashi's path as the young midfielder raced forward to the edge of the Tosu area. He drove a low, hard shot straight at Muro in the Tosu goal and the first period finished 0-0. 

スピード感のある攻撃を仕掛け、谷澤の初ゴールで勝ち点3をゲット

　後半は中村に代えてロベルト セザーを投入。鈴木が右サイドに回る布陣でスピード感のある攻撃を仕掛けた。49分には速攻から谷澤が中央を上がり、エリア右手前の鈴木につなぐ。鈴木は間合いを図ってシュートしたが、タイミングがずれ、ボールは枠外に。52分にも羽生→中盤左寄りの谷澤がDFの間で受けて落とし、鈴木がドリブルで前進。中央エリア手前からフリーでシュートを放つが、枠を捉えられなかった…。

　57分には鳥栖も右サイドを起点とし、左MF柳澤が右エリアでフリーに。そこにパスが出され、決定的と思われる場面を作られるが、今野がケアして守りきる。その後は両サイドバックの攻撃参加する場面も増え、迎えた61分、左サイドを上がった阿部がフワリとした長い左クロスをゴール前に送る。これをファーサイド・右エリア内の平山が、飛び出したGKと競り合いながらヘッドで落とし、中央の谷澤が身体ごと押し込み、ゴール！　待望の先制点を果たした。

　これで勢いに乗り、64分には谷澤が左前線の高い位置から中にクロス。そこに高橋が飛び込むが、先に鳥栖GKにキャッチされる。一方の鳥栖も選手交代を使い、63分には長身のFW野田を前線に投入。鋭いカウンターを仕掛け、終盤は切り替えの早い応酬が続くことになった。81分は左FKを得る。鈴木がシュート性のキックを中に送ったが、誰も合わせられずラインを割る。

　86分には羽生に代わりホベルトがイン。89分にはパスをつないで、ロベルト セザーが右サイドからドリブル突破。中の鈴木をおとりにする形で相手DFを抜いて右エリアに持ち込み、シュートを放ったが、GKのセーブに阻まれる…。

　鳥栖のカウンターに対しては今野、森重が安定感をみせてゴールは割らせず。ロスタイムには鈴木に代えて椋原をそのまま中盤に投入。直後にはダイナミックな速攻を仕掛け、右に上がった徳永→右エリアのロベルト セザーが巧みなトラップで反転。しかしシュートはヒットせず、GKにキャッチされる。追加点こそ奪うことはできなかったが、谷澤の東京での初ゴールを守りきり、味スタで勝利。2011シーズンを白星発進した。

　【選手コメント】《谷澤》「内容は決してよくなかったが、一発を決めて勝てたことはよかった。(ゴールについて)クロスが上がったときは、相手GKにキャッチされるかな…とも思ったが、平山選手なら競り勝てると信じて動き出した。そのあたりの動き出しは意識していること。こういうゴールでも1点は1点なので、決めることができてうれしさはある。課題は、点を取らないと勝てないということを改めて感じた。そこを詰めていきたい」

　《阿部》「勝利はうれしいが、ここで満足しないで、1試合だけでなく続けて勝てるように頑張りたい。味スタは、ユースに入ったときからの憧れであり、目標の舞台。そこでピッチに立てると思うとワクワクした。緊張はしなかったが、前半は固かったと思う。後半は全体的に動きがよくなって、サイドバックとしての動き方もはっきりした。(ゴールにつながったクロスについて)どういうクロスを上げればいいのか、ハーフタイムに平山選手と話し合っていた」

　【大熊監督の会見要旨】「鳥栖については、前線からプレスを掛けてくるかと考えていたが、こちらがボールを奪ったときにかなり引いてきた。耐えるところは耐えてというのは想定内ではあったが、そこを崩すのは昨季の天皇杯から苦労している部分。前半からもう少し気持ちの面を含めた安定と、危険を出していくようにしたい。後半に間延びしてくると自分達のリズムにできるのだが、引かれてスペースがない時にもコンビネーションや個人で危険なプレーを出せるようにしていきたい。難しさはあるが、それが今後の課題。勝利はしたが、相手は工夫してきた。それに対して安定と危険を堅持して、どうやってチームを作っていくかを追求しなければならないと実感した試合。勝利はしたが、毎試合トーナメントを戦うような、そういうシーズンが始まったのだという気持ちが大きい。

　(ロベルト セザーについて)4か月程、試合に出ておらず、コンディションとしてはまだ足りない。ただし、顔を出す回数は少ないが、ボールを運べるし危険なプレーは持っている。彼のスタイルを理解することと彼がチームに合わせることの両方をしなければならない。(ホベルトの起用について)羽生が少し足を気にしていたことと、相手が単純に蹴ってきてセットプレーもあった。ホベルトがボランチとしてエリアを守り、追加点も狙うという意図だった。(鳥栖の印象は)プレシーズンマッチや天皇杯を見ても、選手の頑張りやプレーの質を含めて、J1とそれほど差がなくなってきている。繋ぐところは繋ぎ、狙いもハッキリしている。好印象だし、実力もあると思う。良きライバルとしてお互いに良い試合ができるように頑張りたい」

　【サガン鳥栖・尹監督の会見】「FC東京という強敵との開幕戦を迎え、選手は緊張するはずと思っていたが、予想外にスムーズにゲームに入った。結果は負けてしまったが、これから期待を持てる良いチームに仕上がってきたと思う。FC東京については、色々な部分で差はあると思うが、今日に関して言えば内容的にも負けず、良いゲームができたと思う。ただし勉強になる部分はたくさんあった。今季もコーチングスタッフと選手間のコミュニケーションを重視して取り組んでいるし、選手たちがグランドの中で色々なことを解決できるように導いていくことが重要。自信を持ってプレーし、活躍できるように持っていきたい」

Yazawa's First Goal For The Club Earns Tokyo Three Points 

New signing Roberto Cesar replaced Nakamura at half time, with Suzuki moving to the right of midfield, as Tokyo attempted to inject some pace into their attack. The tactic nearly brought an immediate reward as Yazawa burst forward straight up the middle in the 49th.minute before finding Suzuki on his right. Suzuki took the ball on and clipped a slightly mis-timed right-footed shot that bounded narrowly wide of the left post. In the 52nd.minute an almost identical move created another opening for Suzuki, with Hanyu the provider this time, but again Suzuki directed his shot wide of the left-hand post. 
In the 57th.minute Tosu worked the ball down the right, eventually finding Yanagisawa unmarked inside the Tokyo area on the right. It seemed to be a clear opening for the visitors but Konno was quickly across to smother the danger. The Tokyo sidebacks then began to push forward on the flanks and in the 61st.minute Abe launched a deep, hanging cross towards the far post from the left wing. Hirayama and Muro jumped for the ball, the Tosu keeper failed to hold on and Yazawa was on hand to lunge between two defenders and smash the loose ball into the roof of the net. 
Boosted by the goal, Tokyo began to pour forward and Muro was forced to dart smartly off his line in the 64th.minute to whip Yazawa's sharp cross away from the onrushing Takahashi. Tosu responded by introducing towering forward Noda. The intensity increased as the game developed into a counter attacking battle. Suzuki drove a free kick into the Tosu area in the 81st.minute but the ball evaded both attackers and defenders alike. 
Roberto replaced Hanyu in the 86th.minute. In the final minute of regulation time Tokyo exploited the open spaces in midfield to launch a fast break from midfield, with Roberto Cesar showing impressive pace to leave the Tosu defence trailing in his wake. Suzuki acted as decoy, luring a defender away on the inside and allowing Cesar to burst into the visitors' area on the right and hammer a shot on target. Muro spread himself well and blocked the ball away, denying Tokyo a decisive second goal. Tosu continued to press but the Tokyo defence remained calm with Konno and Morishige coolly efficient in clearing any danger. The late substitution of Mukuhara for Suzuki ran down the clock and Roberto Cesar might have scored with almost the final kick of the game but failed to make a connection after a neat turn had taken him away from a defender inside the Tosu penalty area. Yazawa's goal proved to be sufficient as the final whistle blew moments later and Tokyo had started the 2011 season with a home win.

"The performance wasn't great but it's pleasing that we took the chance when it came and won the game. When the cross came in I wondered if the keeper was going to catch the ball but made my move believing that Hirayama was going to beat him to it. That kind of movement in those areas is something I try to focus on. All goals count, no matter how scruffy, so I'm pleased to get my name on the scoresheet today. The challenge is that if you don't score then you can't win and I hope to get myself in those positions in the future". 

Abe 
"Of course we're pleased with the win but there's no way we can be satisfied and we want to give it our all to keep winning. I've longed to play here at Ajinomoto Stadium since I joined the youth setup so I was thrilled to step out onto the pitch today. I wasn't particularly nervous but I did feel a little stiff in the first half. Our movement was much better overall in the second half and I felt able to fulfill my role as a sideback. At half time I talked to Hirayama about what kind of crosses to put in". 

F.C.Tokyo manager Kiyoshi Okuma 
"We knew that Tosu would press hard from the front and that when we won the ball they would retreat. Breaking down teams that defend deeply has been a problem for us since the Emperor's Cup last year. We also knew that they would lose their shape in the second half and that's where we need better combination and individual play to break forward out of defence. It's difficult but that's the next issue for us to deal with. We won but our opponents worked very hard. I think the game showed us clearly that building a team to strike a balance between stability and risk is a tricky business. We may have won but I feel that this season is going to be like one long knockout tournament. 
Roberto Cesar hadn't played for 4 months before today and although his condition is far from 100% I think he showed us some glimpses of what he can do. He has the ability to move the ball and be a dangerous player. It's going to take some time for us to understand his style and integrate him into the team. Roberto went on because Hanyu was a little concerned about a knock he took on his leg and our opponents had a couple of simple set plays. Roberto can slot in to protect the defence and we were also looking to get a second goal. 
What did I think of Tosu? Well, after watching the Emperor's Cup game and a preseason match and seeing their hard work and the quality of their play I don't think there's much difference between J1. They combine well and have a clear idea of what they're doing. I had a favourable impression and think they're a genuinely good team. I hope we can both continue to play well and enjoy a healthy rivalry".

"With playing such a strong opponent as F.C.Tokyo in the opening game I expected the team to be nervous but I was surprised at how smoothly we started the match. We lost but I think we could see that we are getting close to building a good team with real expectations. Even though we lost and there are differences in many areas I thought we played a good game. We do have a lot to learn, though. This year we will be stressing the communication between the coaching staff and players, to allow them to make decisions to solve problems on the field during matches. We want them to have the confidence to play and to perform".
